Stats: Taking a scale vacation
WOE: Atkins

Crazy - sudden thigh whoosh!

I am decidedly a pear. Before Atkins, I was a pear with a big belly, so I had the pleasure of enjoying all of the fruit in the basket. I took September as a scale vacation, and decided it was so liberating that I'd stick it out through October without weighing, too. So, while I don't know my current weight, as of the end of August, I was down about 35 pounds.

One of the great things about my weight loss so far is losing the belly. (And the boobs, but I'll be honest, I'm not super sad to see them go!) Though I still have a little pudge around my midsection, my upper belly stopped protruding months ago, with my lower belly catching up, particularly after giving up my the last of my HC, and now being totally dairy-free. I still mostly carry my weight through my hips and thighs, and know this combined with the fact that I am getting closer to goal, it might take a while before I look all the way like a normal person and less like the dreaded pear.

Well, yesterday I was sitting in a meeting, and as I looked down, I noticed that my thighs were looking slimmer. A lot slimmer. This morning I was looking at myself totally naked in the mirror, and I realized that they ARE thinner, they even feel thinner when I'm walking. Like, almost totally in proportion with the rest of my body now. I'll take weight loss wherever it is, but I am absolutely ecstatic that finally some of the fat is coming off my thunder thighs!

This is as exciting, if not more, than the first time I realized my hips finally stuck out farther than my thigh saddlebags!

Has anyone else experienced body part specific whooshes?

Thanks, girls! I love that fireworks graphic, too!

OurLuvs - Ahh, aren't saddlebags just the best?? Well, I started taking CO again after a week off (I was all out), I switched from heavy cream to coconut milk a few days ago, and I've been eating an avocado a day for about a week. I've also been eating a lot of homemade chili. So all in all, I think that adds up to a lot more fat?
