Damn- I ate chocolate just now
Have to come to the confessional. I have had such a busy week that I have existed on Fage yogurt and nuts. I didn't have time to cook this week, and as a result, I am crabby, constipated, have a sore stomach, and I'm starving! Today I had 1 slice of quiche, a small Fage w/organic blueberries and Splenda, and that's it.
Just now, I broke down and chose to eat 6 squares (about 1/2 a bar) of Hershey's chocolate. I also gobbled up a bunch of cashews. This is the first cheat I have done in months and months, truly. I am not going to beat myself up, because I know the reason why I ate like I did- lack of preparation. If I would have had bacon cooked up, tuna made, dinners tossed in the crockpot, LC cookies made, then I wouldn't have eaten that. So, dinner is planned in the crockpot tomorrow, and while I am waiting, I am going to try and make a batch of LC peanut butter cookies, and mix up some tuna. Just wanted to confess, and I am going to put the rest of the candy bar in the trash right now.

It was very understandable, it's so hard to do this woe without being prepared! Don't look back, forget it happened. It has happened to me too and don't let it get you down!

We all have done this! Don't feel bad, just dust yourself off and get back on track. If you've gained any weight from this, it'll be temporary and gone in a few days of clean eating.
The one thing I've always wondered about is how do you make low carb cookies? What are some of the favorites? I have to watch overall calories now since I want to get rid of a few more pounds, so how can I not eat the whole batch? |

Sweetie, I have restarted after 3 years on 9/29. And today, at work we had a "treat day" for our dept. They had baked goods (brownies, cookies, pastries) delivered for us. Of course, because I'm the dept. admin I had to rally the troops to the feeding trough
And as much as I tried to stay good, I wound up having a small square dense fudgy type of thing that was really good. But because I'm a compulsive eater I lost a bit of control and after everyone left, scarfed down two brownies. So we all have those days. So still went to the gym tonight and eating LC for dinner and staying on course. It's just a minor slip and it happens to the best of us. So just stay on track and you'll be fine. And keep on this site. The support system is great here! |

BTW I've been maintaing a 160 pound weight loss for almost 4 years and I have been faithfully low carbing for almost 6, so I have come to identify the signs of making this a real way of life. Binging on chocolate and nuts is, believe it or not, a fantastic sign. You didn't think to eat sugars and starches. That's such huge progress... The real goal isn't weight loss. The real goal is to change our brains so that we no longer even consider carbs as real food, real dietary staples. Last edited by NancyH58 : 10-09-2008 at 08:57 PM. |

So you ate chocolate.
No big deal. It's not like you were planning on going the rest of your life without ever eating chocolate again, were you? That would be setting yourself up for failure in my opinion. I wouldn't even call it a cheat. At some point you gotta work some occasional bad stuff back into your plan or you'll go cuckoo and fall off the wagon entirely. |
