low carb/adkins bars
ok so I use to eat these back in 02 when I was doing low carb-and I am back to it, and picked up some-BUT on the front of the bar it says 2 net carbs, but on the back of the box it says more than that, even with minusing the fiber and such, SO my question is, what do u think about these bars, and do u think that the 2 net carbs is what it says it is? Thanks, Cindy

No they are not-they don't count the sugar alcohols and glycerine. A frankenfood to stay away from.

I avoid them as a general rule.
If I want something sweet, I drink a Slimfast lowcarb shake. They don't mess me up and no weird math on the label. |

I only use them in a pinch. I'm not partial to breakfast food so they are good substitute for me when I am on the go or away from home.

Since your WOE says moderate carbs, I would suggest something more in the line of Lara Bars. Yes. They are a little higher in sugar/carb content but they don't have any added artificial sweeteners or preservatives in them. They're the one bar I can eat wtihout any problems & no sugar cravings. And they're very convenient. Several low carbers here eat them.

I agree with Dae. Lara Bars, though high in natural sugars, never stall me. I eat a half one a few times a week before a run.
