Is decaff lipton tea ok?

I was going to make the decaff lipton tea you buy at the grocery store in teabags. And probably use some splenda to sweaten it. Is their any carb or anything im missing in the tea that wouldnt be ok for induction?

I think it's fine. I drank tons of iced tea during induction.

Do be aware, though, that the Splenda has carbs. The packets are 1 carb each; the granular is 24 carbs per cup! The quick packs I believe are 4 carbs each, not positive on that one though.

If you like it really sweet, you might consider some of the liquid versions of Splenda - Netrition has one called Fiberfit and also DaVinci syrups make a simple syrup, and many flavored syrups.

And welcome to the boards!

I use decaf Lipton, luzianne, and Kroger brand. They are all fine for all phases of Atkins.
I like the taste of Lipton and Luzianne best of the grocery store teas. I drink it hot and I make ice tea every day!

I use this all the time, I even use herbal tea bags in conjunction with the regular lipton decaf and make raspberry, peach and red zinger iced tea. Too many carbs to sweeten with regular splenda, I use 1 quick pack for a 2 quart pitcher...I believe its 3 carbs total.
