It's Saturday, who's working out today

Good morning everyone!
So who's working out today?

I'm going to try to do a 4 mile run, I'm going to ice my leg before I head out.
Plus I'm going to be cleaning the house. I want it spotless for when Brittany and Landen come home tomorrow.
I'm a neat freak.

Have a good workout and burn those pounds off.

I am! I'll run my one mile (which is a big accomplishment for me this week!) I ran a full mile for the first time on Tuesday and haven't stopped since! Hopefully I'll get 1.5 next week! Thanks for the motivation!

Wow, this is the first day I'm able to reply to this post. I'm not much for exercising, but am trying.

I took a 2.2 mile walk this morning, which is quite hilly in places. Hoping to do the same tomorrow, only a different route, which is a little bit longer.

It's hard for me to do anything during the week because I have to get up so early for work, and don't usually get home until after dark sometimes. (I don't live in the same town I work in, so I have to commute). Almost always have some kind of errand to run on my lunch so don't take a walk then - except for the errand.

Anyway, I'm just happy I could post on here at least once.

Have a great day everyone!!

Hi, Vikki,

Trust me, I'm no expert - I did my one hour running this morning, and I know how important it must be to you to run, just like it is to me.

BUT, do you think you might be overtraining just a bit? When you have to go to extraordinary lengths just to be able to accomplish your normal exercise routine, maybe you should take a few days of rest to let your leg heal?

I don't know your particular situation, so please excuse me if I am speaking out of place, but whenever I see people running or in cardio class with knee or ankle braces, or hear of them icing their joints, it reminds me of the very first running book I ever read - the author (John the Penguin) said this was a serious sign of overtraining and that it likely would lead to permanent injury in the future.

I know you wouldn't want that! So please, take care of yourself!

I will be heading out for a walk shorter than my normal 4 miles but 2 is better than none. My walking partner is not available so this is all my 9 yr old can do..

I had SUCH a good workout today! I did 50 minutes on the elliptical, 1 hour and 20 minutes on the recumbent bike, and a half hour of weight lifting!

I feel so great!

DH and I went to Sea World today, but I worked out on the stability ball with weights before we went.

He made me promise to STAY IN THE WHEELCHAIR today cuz my foot is swelling so bad after trying to walk. It felt good to be "pushed around" for ONE day.

Tomorrow, I plan a mile walk AT LEAST and I already told him to pump up my bike tires, cuz I want to ride at least 8 miles.

No, I don't take offense to your response, I appreciate your concern. I am terrible about taking time off. Today my calf was tight my knee was a little sore but I only notice it when I'm going up the hills and then when I come back down the hills.

Anyway I will try to listen to my body and not run when I shouldn't.

Thanks

Vikki
