Dang! What a bummer!
I got my pumpkin pie syrup from DaVinci. All I can say is Ew.
It smells like cough syrup and tastes like black licorice. ![]() Oh well. ![]() |

At least you only got 1 bottle right?
I got soooo excited when I found the sugar free version on the davinchi website, I told my 3 sisters about it and they all wanted to try it!! My sisters all wanted a bottle and I decided to order 2! Needless to say 5 bottles of it are sitting in the pantry not being used. I felt REALLY bad that I told my sisters about and and it was YUCKY! Some people on LCF said they really loved it and I took their opinion and ordered some. I really should have ordered one bottle and let them taste it. It would have saved ALOT of money! But I was thinking of the shipping and ordered all at once. We love the pumpkin coffee drinks from coffee shops BUT this stuff is NASTY! IMHO I have used a little tiny bit mixed with vanilla and came up with an okay flavor but, I think you really need to add some pumpkin to it?!? I have the bottle I opened and 1 unopened one of the SF and 1 bottle of opened and sampled of the sugar variety (sis was going to throw it away) in my pantry. One of my sisters took hers to work with her to put by the coffee pot and no one there liked it either! You could try to put some in a one minute muffin or some other recipe and use it up a little at a time.......I just hate wasting money ![]()

Thanks for the warning, Sandi. I was thinking about getting this for my coffee.
I think Starbucks has their sugar-free holiday flavored syrups out around now though. Maybe you could try the sf pumpkin syrup they have? I don't know if all stores have it though. |

This is a good thread keeps people from wasting money. Yuck on cough medicine and licorice sounds like jagermeister. lol ew
I want to buy a lot of bottles of Davincis online but I can't afford to be "wrong" with my choices. ![]() The white chocolate sounds good as does the toasted marshmellow (I think its called) and Peach (mainly for tea) any thoughts on these? |

This seems to be a common reaction to that flavor. I did the same thing
![]() This is the only flavor I've had that problem with, although I haven't tried anything too racy ![]() |

Nobody cares for the white chocolate here, but the regular chocolate I give 3.5 stars out of 5 (it is best mixed with the vanilla... 3 parts choco/1 part vanilla)
My kids and I do not mind the peanut butter also 3.5 stars (they love 1/3 of a banana mixed in to their shakes with the PB) The vanilla is awesome, 5/5 stars... it can be used in any recipe that needs vanilla and splenda Hazelnut 5/5 French Vanilla.. I must have been overloaded in the 90's so I gave my bottle away, but my GF LOVES it and wants more. Strawberry... too much color for me (ugh why do they do that??) not bad, tastes like a cheap strawberry shake. Same with blueberry. My next order is going to have the Praline (I heard goood things about that...) and the plain splenda (for my coffee over the packets with the bulking agent..) |

Thanks for saving our MONEY!
I like the coconut a lot. Vanillia is good too. Not crazy about the white chocolate at all. I like the pineapple too - use it for snowcones.........a little goes a long way - it's a strong flavor. |

I was trying to recreate the pumpkin pie latte from SB. They don't carry a sugar free version of this drink, and I really love it! I just can't have all that sugar.
I got the chocolate and it's pretty good. Like Prozak said 3/5. I like the carmel, and I like the french vanilla. Peanut butter was gross to me as well. I love their simply sweetener. I use that all the time, and get it from Sams for a LOT cheaper. |

Great thread! There are more I want to try but I hate buying some and throwing them away.
I just bought the cinnamon and was really disappointed. I was trying to get something close to the cinnamon dolce at starbucks but nope. The taste reminds me of something very specific but I can't place it right now. The second the Vanilla- very yummy! The raspberry is very good too, but not much to use that in because I don't put that in my coffee. I like the hazelnut too. Not crazy about the kahlua. |

I was SOOO excited to find Davinci's in my local grocery store last week. Grabbed up a bottle of the vanilla & a bottle of caramel (I'm thinking to mix it w/heavy cream, coffee, stevia and ice....blended). Anyway, got home putting groceries away and found out the hard way that not all Davinci's is SF
Of course, the vanilla was SF but not the caramel.I was very upset!!! I wanted the caramel more than the vanilla! Oh well, live and learn to pay more attention! You can bet I'll be looking for the SF version next time! Last edited by livinlarge : 09-17-2008 at 03:31 PM. |

The caramel is yummy. I like the raspberry too. I keep simple syrup on hand for when I just need sweet but no flavors. Vanilla is OK.

Amaretto is the BEST!! Next order will be three bottle of Amaretto and I think I will try something new too. French Vanilla is ok, not great but I am not a big French Vanilla fan. Hubby wants me to try the Banana too.

Oh my goodness - I love the pumpkin pie flavor from Da Vinci. I just started making egg cremes this week for the first time and it totally tastes like pumpkin cheesecake.
I will admit it doesn't smell all that appealing if I just open the bottle and take a big whiff of it, but none of the Da Vinci ones smell good to me. -Jenca |

I have been using the sugar free french vanilla in my coffee and in my eggs with cinnamon and cream cheese for as long as I can remember. Smart and Final has the lowest price by far and many flavors to choose from if anyone is interested!

I have no idea about the pumpkin flavor, but one thing I've noticed is that those flavors that have an awful strong after taste of some sort, you're probably using too much. A little goes a long way with some of the flavors.
I thought that Toasted Marshmallow was the worst thing I had ever tasted but I realized I was using way too much. 1/2 teaspoon in a few tablespoons of heavy cream is a fabulous dessert! It's like a cold liquid marshmallow. My favorites are the simple syrup and french vanilla (from Sam's) and Cookie Dough and German Chocolate Cake (I think I got them from Netrition). I'm over caramel. I think I overdosed. For a long time, my favorite all purpose sweetener was Cookie Dough. The only one I can say I just didn't like was B52. It was kind of an orange/chocolate.

SF syrups
DaVinci's Kahlua rocks but the Baileys Irish Cream stinks.
Oh the English Toffee is pretty good too. I haven't tried my Toasted Marshmallow yet... Torani Almond Roca, French Vanilla and Chocolate all rock! |

My BFF loves the White Chocolate, won't try any other flavors. I got the Cherry, and didn't like it in my Egg Creams. Its perfect for yocheese. I just ordered the Chocolate, and I got Dulce last time and I love it. I almost got the Cookie Dough, but was afraid I would hate it. This is a great thread!

I have two SAms that are close to me, and one carries them and the other doesn't. You can go to their website and they will tell you which store carries what.
