Mama Lupe's Low Carb Tortillas

Thoughts on these? I have been thinking about looking for some because I heard they are really good with only 3g of digestible carbs (4g of fiber) per tortilla. I heard la tortilla brand is kinda to most people so I don't even want to go there. I am not familiar with the carb count in the mission brand but so far I have heard that mama lupe's are the best. I REALLY want to make some quesadillas like ASAP! Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Yeah I am going to check at walmart today too. I read an old thread here (like 2004 I think) and some people where talking about them having them at walmart. I think it may depend on location and that was so long ago who knows!

I've had BOTH Mama Lupe's and La Tortilla brand--and love them both. Now I had some low carb tortillas from the supermarket (don't recall the brand), and they tasted like cardboard, but I have no problem with these. I buy from Netrition.

I have eaten the La Tortilla ones and they are very good. When you look for them in the grocery store, they will not be with the other tortillas in the refrigerated case. My grocery store places them with the other Mexican ethnic food canned goods. I guess they don't need to be refrigerated.

I only found them by accident when I was looking for taco shells for my husband. Search the isles of your grocery store and maybe you will find them.

I buy Mission Carb Balance taco size shells. They are really good; soft and moist, good flavor, etc.

Hi MrsJ...
We use a non-low-carb brand from Sam's Club which are 8 inch Santa Fe Tortilla company (6 net carbs). Nice and moist, wonderful texture and mild tortilla-y flavor.

We've switched brands over the years several times and found good low-enough-carb torts for wraps almost everywhere.

I think I am going to have to try these since they seem quasi normal . Maybe I'll pick some up next time I hit the store. Thanks!

Thanks I think I am going to have to start looking at the counts on all the tortillas I may end up pleasantly surprised! Who knew it would be this difficult to make a quesadilla lol...

I found some low carb tortilla wraps over in the mexican food part of the grocery store at Walmart. They have 5 carbs.
I fry up two eggs and wrap them in a tortilla wrap and man are they delicious.

I buy La Tortilla (small size) at my Trader Joe's. My Costco carries the large La Tortilla but I know not all Costco's carry them since I've looked at other locations. I like (too much) the Mission white and whole wheat. I try not to eat more then a couple a week but they are great for wraps and a quick snack.

Hmmm now I am starting to question the la totilla's brand....I heard so many negative things about the taste and now everyone seems to enjoy them. A matter of taste I guess...I think I'll go to trader joes today and see what type they have...

I use the low-carb version because it is made with inulin. I can't handle the flour (reactive hypoglycemia) in regular tortillas, even if the net carb count is low.

I buy Buena Vida lc tortillas from Wal-Mart. I think they are fantastic. I don't remember how many carbs in them and I'm at work so I can't check. But are the best I've found.

I like using the low-carb tortillas for Hebrew International Kosher hotdogs. The 1/4 lb dinner franks only have 1 carb each. Also with sugar-free relish and ketchup, and mayo. Going to wait til after induction for those though.

I love my LC wraps/tortillas. I just wrap anything (lol ...well almost).... Love it with grilled veggies and cheese...wrapped...oh my. Today I have leftover bacon chicken (boneless chicken breast that I baked wrapped in bacon last night) and roasted peppers for lunch.
