I'm afraid of coconut oil......

I've been reading so much good stuff that i've been using it for past month (only EV) about 1 tbl. a day BUT I am now 5 lbs. HEAVIER and from some of the recent comments...feel it might be due to that.
I am doing Atkins but with slightly higher carbs, like 20-30 at most.
Just bought a 54 oz. jar but am really leery about getting into it.

Anyone know for a fact that CO has caused your wt. gain. ?

Well, the way to know is don't have it for a month and see if you lose....
Maybe it dosen't work the same for everyone......

WOE: Low Carb - 30 or less sensible carbs per day
Hi arly...
Since you only bought 3.37 pounds of Coconut Oil, and at 1 T a day, you'd consume less than 2 pounds in a month. Unless you ate it all and assimilated it all, and it multiplied in your system, how would it have caused a 5 pound increase?

Something sounds askew...

To clarify...haven't opened the 54 oz. yet. Have used 2- 1 lb. containers over past 2 mos.,mostly to make chocolate mud in 4 portions...have 1 serving at a time.
I guess my main concern is that the extra fat on top of the other very high fats (mostly saturated plus avocado ) I'm eating may be causing my gain.
I pretty much stick to 3 meals...not a snacker but will have the mud in late evening usually.

I would say to post some menus and let everyone see if it could be something else. I've used CO in the past but prefer Olive oil (the flavor). What plan are you on?
