Tell me to throw them out.

I found some chocolate fudge poptarts in my disaster kit. I missed them when I cleaned all the cr#p out of my pantry.

I am pretty anxious. I am an emotional eater. I don't need these things, I just need a few reminders about WHY they are so bad for me.

"Because they'll make me fat" isn't working. And I don't want to get fat in a hurricane!

I know on another thread someone suggested standing naked in front of the mirror for a little while to help convince yourself why you don't want to eat that junk!

Id say THROW EM OUT too!!

Just toss em out ..somewhere where you cant crawl in and get them out too! ha

I sometimes DESTROY my food by pouring salt ans pepper or chili pepper on them (especiall if its a sugary thing(. That is a sure way to stop myself from picking at them.

Heather, for you and all our friends in Texas !

Now, girlfriend, GET RID OF THAT CRAP. There is no nutritional value there. You sweat, toil, and work to get rid of the pounds .. why would you want to sabotage those efforts by consuming garbage?

PROCESSED = CRAP.

Don't kid yourself .. eat those and you'll be on the ropes for more and more and more ...

GET RID OF THEM !

Betty

Gone.

Yay!

One more obstacle to weight loss gone. Never doing THAT again.

I am so glad DH is also low-carb. I'm feeling very vulnerable right now.

One reason-they simply taste like CRAP. Seriously I take a bite of pop tarts now and literally spit them out-soooo nasty.

Read the ingredient label - do you really want THAT in your body??? Take them outside and put them in the garbage can out there. My son always wants me to buy those and I just refuse. Anything that leaves that "lard-like" coating on the roof of your mouth can't be good.

You are worth more than a fudge pop tart!

You don't need the poptarts. They are loaded with high fructose corn syrup and transfat. A few minutes of tummy satisfaction isn't worth dying early for. Kellogg's doesnt even try to hide the fact that their product has transfat. They're all open about it.

Toss them. Don't even keep them around. Take them out of the box and crumble them in the trash. Dump some cleaning solution on it.

How about making yourself an iced coffee instead. You can put in some unsweetened cocoa in it to make it chocolatey.

I'm not going to bring up the weight gain issue. We tend to think it's just vanity and no big deal (in our heads).

What I will say is, It's the last thing you need when you are stressed. It won't make anything better, it will make things worse.

You will have a Sugar rush and then a crash. That can and mostly likely would be followed by bloating and cravings. No matter what you eat the rest of the day, you will not feel satisfied and will eat a bunch more.

While this is going on, a chemical reaction is taking place in your body and mostly likely some depression is kicking in.

This is why that one "Poor Choice" can turn into a Spiral.

Don't eat it. It's not just about weight gain. It's about feeling good emotionally, physically, mentally etc... It could take a week to get everything back to where it was.

All that for 2 minutes of eating pleasure? Is it really worth it?

As Betty says...It's poison. Throw that crap away.

Hi Heather...
We thought we had cleaned out the cabinets, pantry etc, and yet we find ''stuff''.

When we find some, we immediately walk it out to the outside trash container and pop-the-lid, and away it goes.

You know what to do, lady.

Hey, that disaster kit is for "in the event of a disaster" not "cause a diet disaster" Well done on tossing them! Pop Tarts are pure evil in a box.

I know you've already dumped 'em - but in any similar event do this - remove PopTarts from box. Remove wrappers from PopTarts. Get some double-stick tape. Apply tape to back of each PopTart. Press PopTarts, one at a time, onto your thighs and booty. Cuz that IS where they will end up anyway, even if you try it from the INSIDE!!

Works with any food - Cinnabon rolls, brownies, ice cream sandwiches (although they melt quickly and run down your leg....)

Good job!

Nah, those things have too many preservatives for that! Maggots wouldn't eat them anyway, they prefer organic matter not plastics.

I agree, toss 'em....It would be pretty bad if all you had to eat in a disaster was pop tarts. I would replace them with some jerky or something along those lines.

Last weekend I was cleaning out a cupboard and came across some food I had bought prior to low carbing, some Rice-a-Roni, instant potatoes, spaghetti....things like that. I put it all out on the counter and told my roommate he had about 2 minutes to put it all away in his cupboard or else it was going in the trash. It felt good to get rid of it....well kind of get rid of it. I'll still have to smell it when he cooks it.

BACK AWAY....from the chemical filled Pop-Tart! Think about it....how long has it been in your disaster kit and it has not rotted or gotten moldy yet. Put a can of tuna in it's place. Just don't forget the can opener.
