do you mean my comment? i don't know, i don't think there is a debate and no one got heated, people just have different points of view/preferences.

i kind of feel the opposite way, if all threads were abandoned after the original question was answered they would be boring. i really learned the most interesting things on here in threads that kind of went off topic or where people went off on a tangent to share personal comments.

I simply see a lot of smart people having an intelligent conversation about lettuce. There is nothing wrong with educating people, and sometimes the first answer may not always be the right one.

I for one learned more about lettuce than I ever thought there was to know!
