Its Thursday, who's working out today

Good morning everyone!
So who's working out today?

Well I am going to take tonight off because my knee has been bothering me and I'm going to let it heal.

Have a good workout and burn those pounds off.

I'm taking a recovery day too. My dodgy calf feels extra dodgy today. Better give it a rest before it goes altogether. I was limping for a month last time it did.

Waiting for it to get lighter out then I will go for a run... who knows how long.

Later this morning i will be leaving for Atlantic City for a few days. Hopefully I will get a few runs in while there... not to mention the outlet stores...

I did a hard back and shoulders session this morning with my trainer. Enjoyed it!

I did arms on Monday, followed by an advanced spinning class, and then I did a killer leg session on Tuesday, so I'm hurting ALL OVER! I swear, it hurts to shower!!!

QUESTION: Not sure where to post this.

Do you do cardio every day?

What about ab work?

I know you are to do upper and lower weight work outs every other day to allow muscle to heal - but, I've read some where at some time that it's okay to work abs every day? What do you say/do?

Finished a 4 mile run. Found I run best on songs with bpm of 145-150. Going to look for songs to make a playlist to see if that helps.....every little thing helps,

Betty... you need to take a rest day today. Take it slow, girl. Don't overdo it

After work tonight: 30 minutes cardio on the treadmill (just adding a little incline sure makes a difference!) and an hour of weight lifting

Sometimes if I use the TM, I put incline up all the way and keep speed around 2-3mph. that way I can walk slow and read and still get a good sweat going

I do cardio 3x a week. 20 minutes of intervals.

And I weight train 3x a week for about 40 minutes. My ab work comes in the form of some of the weight training I do...but I don't do my abs every day.

If there is one thing I have learned-you can do 1000 crunches a day and never get a flat belly. Why? Because there's only one way to get that or get 6 packs abs: lowering your body fat percentage

For my workout today, I did my 20 minutes of intervals.

I plan to do arms and ab work today. Am shooting for .4 mile walk today, maybe farther if I can. Yesterday's .3 was pretty tough, but hopefully everyday will get easier. Little by little !

I gotta try and get my muscle tone back in my legs. They cramped up so much yesterday. Unfortunately the doctor said "you can never make up for the time you've lost.." All I can do is begin again.

No, I only do cardio (running) 4 days a week. The other 3 days I do weight training and the stability ball for core work.

IMO, there is no reason to do ab work everyday. Its not the quantity of your workouts that make the difference, its the QUALITY/intensity.

I walked 2.5 miles again this morning. I've also been doing some upper arm exercises with my 5lb weights every day - trying to tone a bit.

Happy to be able to say .. YES to this question..LOL

Just got back from the gym.

Went 3.40 miles. 60 minutes. I started at 3.0 w/1 incline .. worked my way up to a 8.5 incline at 3.4 .. at the 30 minute mark I Took it down to 0 incline and jogged at 5.0 for about 10 minutes.. Then back to a 9 incline at 3.0 .. for about 10 minutes, then jogged again (zero incline) for a song then back to the incline... for a 60 minutes total.
Then went and did upper body and abs for about 20 minutes.
done.
LOL

I wasn't going to push it again, it just hurts to bad, but I have been taking the gluclosamen and ibuprofen and I will ice my knee here in just a little bit.
I can't ice it during work, just kind of hard to do that.

Great job working out everyone!

How's the foot? *&^%&. Does that sum it up?

I get SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO mad at it that I just go out and PUSH IT anyhow. I am sick and tired of it.

Today I actually had DD take pictures of me STANDING ON MY TOES ... okay, so it wasn't all THAT impressive to a casual observer, but to ME? After not being able to bend the toe for 22 months? IT WAS A LANDMARK EVENT...

So yeah, I am making progress, albeit S L O W ... Ridiculously slow.

I have another week off of work yet, so I hope I make good progress before I have to go back. I guess its like anything else .. instead of focusing on how far I have to go, I should just focus on how far I've come, right?

I'LL GET THERE.

Oh yeah, I've taken my share of ibuprofen too !!! I took 800 mg earlier!

Betty
