rather than vary upper and lower body, instead i usually do full-body workouts 2-3x a week. i don't work abs every day because like others have mentioned, there's no real benefit in doing so. along with crunches, ive found it helpful to do things like "supermans" and back extension type stuff. planks and side planks are good too. i do abs maybe 3-4 x a week and 1 day is always supermans and similar. |

Upper body workout for me today.
Started out with a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood. I was supposed to lift first thing this morning and not do any cardio today, but I started with the walk because I was very sleepy when I got out of bed and needed the fresh air and sunlight to wake me up before I tackled those weights! And I can't say I really consider the walk I did to be "cardio." My heart rate was up a little, but I wasn't powerwalking. Just needed the boost to get me going before lifting. Still focusing on triceps, but hit the biceps, shoulders, and chest, too. BATWINGS, BE GONE!! Eventually...hopefully ![]() Last edited by Goldenrod : 09-11-2008 at 09:07 PM. |
