Finally made it back here!!

Started low carb yesterday. After a long hard year and over 150lbs gained. I finally feel good enough to do this.

I was on 100-60 mg of prednisone every day for 10 months. Then slowly weaned of of it, and I mean slowly!!!You want to talk about weight gain!!! Saving my life was very important, but can't they make a med that will save me and make me lose weight, LOL!!!

I even had friends that saw how sick I was, and saw my weight gain, and said they would rather die thin then gain weight like I did. Uhmmm, I am alive!!! (Did you notice the word "had" in the first sentence) you know who your true friends are when you weigh almost 300 pounds and are fighting to stay alive!! The fight was worth every pound. I am here to see my children and grandchildren grow. I can breath fresh air, and see my true friends, I am alive!

Anyway, I am finally well enough and off of the steroids that I feel now is the time to get a handle on my eating and weight issues. I know that after a long period of meds and weight gain it might be harder to drop the weight, but I have a long life to live and have all the extra time in the world to get to goal. It is very renewing to come back from being so sick to having a full life a head.

I lost a lot of weight with Atkins before and know I will be able to live this lifestyle.

It feels great to be back!!

Good luck on your future weight loss. I know you can do it.

My husband had to take it on a permanent basis and he underwent a battle to lose weight while taking it. No matter how much he tried he still had the telltale fat cheeks. He did get a lot off but still looked "puffy" so I know what a struggle it is.

And hurray for your improved help and boo to false friends.
