Whey Powder
I bought a trial packet of GNC's whey powder in vanilla (can't remember the brand since I tossed the packet). Anyhow, I tried it w/milk, ice, a banana, and a scoop of peanut butter and it was so sickeningly sweet I just couldn't drink it at all.
I've had a peanut butter, banana smoothie before and never have had this issue, are most vanilla powders really sweet like that? I'm going to try a berry one tomorrow but I'm just not too sure if there's anything I can add to cut that flavor of the whey. |

I don't care for the vanilla flavors by themselves at all either, for the same reason, so I mix them with chocolate 1:1 ratio, and it's really tasty that way. Comes out tasting sort of like the flavor of Wendy's Frosties.
Otherwise, I only use vanilla if I'm mixing a small amount into cereal or a bowl of berries/cottage cheese, something where it's not the key ingredient but adds flavor/protein. |
