Oh Mike!

Don't do LC and Alli!
It's a VERY bad combo..

Alli is for a "normal" diet..
with all the fat (good stuff!) from LC.. you will be in a very sad state if you take Alli!

Hon.. do you really need to lose weight?
you sure look good *smiling*..

That is a bad idea on so many levels. First, a low carb diet requires a pretty high fat level to be healthy. High fat and Alli would be a bad combo.

Nope, they're not compatible. Alli is made to react badly if you consume too much fat in your diet- which would be impossible on low carb. I've heard horror stories of people having accidents. It actually says on their packaging that it may cause "anal leakage". Yeahhhhh, I'm all set with that LOL

Mike,
I totally mean this in the kindest way possible; I do not mean to be rude or snarky so I hope it doesn't come across that way. But I have seen you on here so many times trying this or that, injections, alli, hardly eating w/exercising tons ect. You seem to keep coming back looking to find a magic pill or an easy route....but there is none. If you want to be successful and keep the weight off you need to pick a plan, read the book and then follow it. That’s the only way to do this...there are no pills, injections, starvation diets out there that are going to help. TRUST ME if there was an easy(ier) way to lose weight I would have been all over a long time ago. The only thing I've found to work is to work the plan that I selected. I just feel bad to see someone spinning their wheels instead of making progress.
I really wish you the best and lots of success!

BTW Mike,

My Mother-in-Law did the Alli, but watched the fat intake... Too this date she's lost 60 pds in 4 months.

She's still in the bathroom constantly, and has to wear pads because of the leakage... It's gross and not worth it, besides she's 82 years old.. Who gives a s*** about weight at 82??

Thank you for your words. About 6 years ago I lost 130 pounds on atkins. Followed by the book and did great. I kept it off 6 years and this last year gained back up to 230. You might be right I may just not want to put forth the effort and do the work. Its in me though I know that I can. Its about to kill me that Ive gained weight and can't wear all my designer clothes and look like **** all the time, or think I do. In the last 5 months I lost my father who was most improtant to me and on my 30th bday my bestfriend was tragiclly killed in an auto accident. Maybe the few times Ive tried and failed is because Im seriously depressed and dont want to admit it? Who knows. Just keep me in your thoughts and prayers. This board is an outlet for me.

AWWWWWWW Mike, a great big

I know where your coming from.

My Dad had a massive stroke in 04 and even though he still alive, he lost the language center of his brain, causing him not too be able too talk, walk and is in diapers bedridden!1

I KNOW the depression!

I gained 20 pds since 04 up until I started Atkins again in July, 08! I also gained 30 more pds on top of the 20 because I quit smoking in Dec of 07.

The hardest thing though is not being able to listen too my Dads words or advise etc, (tears rolling down my cheeks) so I know where your coming from.

I too lost my best friend two years ago from a massive heart attack!!

The depression lead me to keep eating, even though that's no excuse, that is how I handled things.

So hang in there!!

Hi Mike,

Life gets away from us sometimes. I am so very sorry to hear about your dad and your friend! What a very hard year it's been.

I am very glad you are here now. You are here for a reason, you will find what you need here.

I have done the exact same thing.. lost down to goal twice actually, and gained back all the first time and about 60% this last time. You can do it again. I think you want a quick fix, but deep down inside you know what really works.. and hon.. having a closet full of beautiful clothes is a great motivator!

Post often.. we all are here for support too.

Mike I am so sorry for your loss. Eating is comforting when we have tragedy strike and allows us to hide our true feelings. I can understand your wanting to "fix" your weight any way you can but as was posted earlier there is no quick fix.

Everyday we get up we make choices, we can feel and get control of what we eat or we can choose to eat our way through our difficult times. I am sending warm thoughts your way for peace and control in your life. I sign my signature the way I do because it too is a daily struggle. At times I can't think even about one whole day without the foods that so comfort me....so I just do it one minute at a time. Good luck to you on your journey..............

I didn't realize all I had going and thought I was doing well until I went to the Dr a few weeks ago. I was having chest pain and thought that it was reflux. He was like its anxiety and wanted to know all that was going on in my personal life. I mentioned on two to you guys but there much more. He was like damn! I thought I was holding together well mentally, but my red blood count was extreemly low along with 30 pounds weight gain, reflux, and anxiety-according to the Dr.

I miss my father so much and his words too, Cathy. I mean Ive been looking at boats and Saturday I realized wow, I never ever made any large financial decisions with out Pops! I was driving down the road and started to cry.

My best friend and I talked EVERY day. The last conversation we had was via email on Wednesday and the wreck happened on Thurs. I was out of town and we were all to meet on my bday at the local japanese joint to celebrate. Needless to say my bday celebration was canceled.

The one and only reason Im still together is because of my 4 year old. He was an accident but God knew how much I'd need Colin during this time. He keeps me motivated. I am such a giver and always have been maybe I need to start giving more to MYSELF!

True! For like three days my father was nuts in the hospital. Then, the day before he died he made total sense. But during that time he looked at me and said "You know im getting my wings dont you?" So, I knew it wasn't long before he would be gone. That very next day he told all three of his kids what he expected. Me being the youngest...my list was much longer. And, Im trying to do what he asked. Just didnt know the task would be so great.

I did alli but ate little fat so I never had any of the famous problems. I didn't lose that much though. If you actually see the breakdown of how many calories you save with alli it is almost nothing.
