Feel Gulity for Eating So Good

I have spent the last two days in my car eating lunch (it was a hundred yesterday) because everyone at the office is eating salads and low fat, low calorie foods and I feel guilty about eating fried chicken, pork chops, etc. I am a newbie with a lot to lose and I think that if I go in there and eat like I am allowed to, then some of my co-workers will make comments. I guess what I am saying is that I am ashamed to be eating this wol. I have great hopes for this lifestyle, but I am still very concerned that I will crash and burn and put on more than I already weigh. Does any other newbie feel this guilt?

I know what u mean, i guess u have no choice, unless u tell them about your low carb habit so they wouldnt be suprised. Also, u dont have to eat fried stuff, u can always make a big salad and add some protein like chicken, tuna or steak slices on it. It works, it is low carb and fills u up.

As long as you're not sitting there eating a whole stick of butter, it won't look too bad. If anyone snarks at me, I just say, "I'm trying to improve my eating habits by cutting out refined sugars and starches." This is true, plus a lot of folks are doing that w/o going LC in any way.

I know it's cowardly of me, but I grew up in a very confrontational family, and try to avoid that sort of situation.

No, I am not eating salad. I hate salad. I will eat green beans and such. The fried chicken is convenient for me because it keeps so well and I can get it at the deli behind the office. I do pull off the skin since it probably has flour. I grill meat for dinner, so the fried lunch is nice for variety. I'm just glad that I'm not the only one who is just a little self conscience about what I eat in front of others.

I felt the same way when I first started. Sitting at work being almost 250 lbs munching on pork rinds and bunless cheeseburgers...yeah I got some looks But once I started losing all those people come up to me and ask me about my WOE, now that I am down almost 75 lbs they totally accept it (not that I need them too but YKWIM).
Also I had a fear of eating LC in the beginning that it was too good to be true to eat all this high fat, wonderful food and not gain weight or have a heart attack but my weight and my lab results are proof that it works
Good Luck to you, keep it up and ignore what others say, they'll change their tune once the lbs start dropping off

Focus on what you know you have to do to lose weight. Don't worry about anyone else's approval at all! Be confident that, if you stick to plan, you will be thin/healthy before you know it.
