low carb with weight training?

i have a major job 'test' where i will be basically lifting weights and squatting for 6 hours. i have done low carb on and off for a while, and would like to start again, but i wonder if i should wait till after my test? i'm worried about not having enough energy for it.

6 hours of lifting & squatting sounds like way too much of a workout. Is this a test you are giving yourself? You will definitely need to fuel your body for energy.

I'm maintaining and life heavy weights twice a week with a trainer. An hour before I have some all natural peanut butter and a 1/2 of a banana (or Atkins bar) with a 1/4 cup of strong coffee.........gives me great energy. I am maintaining & live a low carb life and only eat the food I mention before a workout.

I workout hard, strength and cardio and I do 15-50g of carbs/day. Never felt it impacted my performance.

There is a great article in FitnessRx magazine on eating low carb and lifting weights. This magazine is out now w/Jackie Warner on the cover. Great article! You can do it.

I lift weights, run, and have an active stocking job. I do just fine on low-carb.
