My first 2 go arounds on atkins, I didnt take them consistantly, and experienced fatigue, hair loss, and just generally felt crappy.

This go around, my first time ever succesful, almost at goal now, I take my vitamins faithfully. The difference in how I feel is enough to me to convince me that my body needed it.

I haven't been taking vitamins since I started LC and been doing great. Consistently losing weight and no side effects other than feeling fatigue sometimes, but they usually has to do with not eating enough. It's really interesting how your body tells you what you need and if you're in tune you know exactly why you feel the way you do and what you need to do to feel better.

I'm a doctor's nightmare when it comes to taking pills, . . .

That said after working in a healthfood/supplement store for 4 years I have shelves of multi's for every thing possible

I do take a liquid B almost each morning, I was on CLA but I got lazy, Theanine and 5HTP for mood and nervousness, Zyflammend for immflamation, folic acid just because. I need to take coenzymeq10 for my gums and the fact that I'm on contraceptives, and I take powdered magnesium for sleep and calcium absorption but only intermittently(sp?)

I don't take a once a day, but i have them, including the Dr A brand, but I tend to take what I know I need and change it as I change.

I just barely started taking vitamins a couple days ago. Before that, I had been LCing for a couple of month and I was losing weight fine and I felt better than ever. Maybe I'll feel even better now that I'm taking the vitamins, who knows?

One could only hope! I probably should to the same thing. I need to get my butt to PP for a checkup and see if they'll sell me some prenatal vitamins.

Anyone know where else I can purchase these? I should of asked my doctor last time I seen him which was just a few days ago but forgot.

I usually forget. I really don't know one way or the other. My diet is good overall. I wonder if it's another marketing scheme sometimes. I truly can't say I feel any better when I do take them consistently, and I've tried many brands. It does have one effect..the lightening of my wallet!

I think the general public is misled that their diet can be severely lacking, but pop a pill, and you've got yourself covered.

Nope! I gave them up as I didnt feel a difference at all. I feel like I get plenty of vitamins and minerals in my food. I eat a ton of veggies, some fruit and healthy fats and proteins. I do take CLO, and biotin and I use CO for pulling and in my egg creams. Thats it for me.

I try to remeber to take them, but all I really take everyday are my BC pills. My grandparents are in their 90's and great grandparents passed when they were in their 100's and they never took any type of pills. I think that it is OK not to. I am following their lead..hahah!

I suppose most of what I take aren't technically 'VITAMINS' but minerals and amino acids, and those do have a direct effect on me that I can see, but then I'm taking them for specific reasons.

One Multivitamin that I do take (half-a**) regularly is a liquid multi call Source of Life Liquid. It is like a regular multi but it is loaded with a ton of B's,Fruit and veggie extracts, and adaptogens like ginsing and other normalizing herbs. I use that definately before a long work day or if I feel like a hangover or sleepless night before.

I take one fizzy vitamin B combo tablet daily--specifically for my moods. Call it my "happy" vitamin. DH said last week "why don't you get PMS anymore?"

When I first began, I wasn't taking them regularly and experienced all sorts of negative symptoms like fatigue and charlie horses. I know that my mineral balance was off-kilter because LC is a natural diuretic. Now, I take high quality supplements daily. I don't take too many -- cal/mag, multi and omega 3-6-9. I never feel fatigued or have cramps anymore.

I don't take a multi-vitamin but I try to remember to take a broad spectrum mineral supplement. Since I began taking it I have had no more leg cramps. I try to remember to take L-carnitine as it is supposed to help with fat loss and muscle gain. I have never really noticed a difference in how I feel when I take a multi vitamin.

I didn't/don't take a multi. Too one-size-fits-all.Depending on my plan of choice I either got:
plenty of calcium and B vitamins
or
plenty of fiber and antioxidents.

I take a few supplements - and add 'probiotics' when my ability to produce my own has been compromised.

I had started taking multi vitamins a few weeks ago, but stopped. I have issues with a sluggish digestive system. These vitamins are in a pack and you take about six pills per day. I felt that they irritated my system more than it already was. So, I stopped taking them.

If I could fine a good one pill a day multi, I would be happy to take it. I just haven't looked for one yet.

All I take now is Natural Calm magnesium to help with my "issues" of my digestive system

I have in the past but with no noticeable effects. During the recovery from my accident I was taking some specific things and tried adding the multi, but it made me feel sick to my stomach, so I stopped. Same thing happened with the B-complex. So I try to get the nutrients from the food I eat instead.

He's waiting for the other shoe to drop! (where did that phrase come from anyway)

Y'know, you might not want to get a "good one pill" unless it is one that is going to break down easily and quickly and still give you what you want. One of the reps of a company actually took their pill and a competitors and put them into a lukewarm glass of water and it was completely dissolved 15 min to half and hour later but the competitors was still half solid. Since the stomach will be a lot hotter, more acidic and churning, that would give good results. As the store workers if any of the vitamins have a dissolve time of 15 min or less and the ones that do will say so on the bottle many times.

Or you could go for a liquid. I like the liquid or powder to liquid vitamins. I don't know but they are "fun" to take like making a mixed drink or something.

here in Austria our vitamins and aspirin come in "Brausetabletten" form and you plunk a tablet in a glass of water and within 30 seconds or less it's dissolved then you drink it. Tastes like koolaid. Hits your bloodstream super fast and so you don't have the problem of not digesting it before it passes through (always my problem before). Really reduces my aspirin intake at TOM as I only need one aspirin per month, at the first sign of cramping. I like that I can take less medicine with more impact.

that said, other than the B's, I'm not a pill popper AT ALL. Don't like taking stuff. Try to get it all from my diet.
