Oil pulling burns calories
OMG <swishing right now trying to pass the time> I cannot believe how out of shape my mouth is!! Going on just 3 minutes here and the whole thing is tired. I must've burned 20 calories already! I could see this becoming an addiction though. Like chewing gum. Not nearly as bad as I thought. Used some on my face too and it's a little greasy
Hopefully I won't break out with pimples by morning. Hope I'm not grossing anyone out, but just standing there swishing away seems to take forever so I thought I'd start a new thread and pass the time. Hey....crazy idea but maybe this is a good way to keep the kids at bay. My 15yr old should be doing this! Want to try it in my hair (My hair needs a good silky shine, it's dull and dry most of the time with lots of split ends)

I heart oil pullingcheck out some info here. Basicly a way to cleanse your mouth naturally. I'll have to admit, there is no burning sensation like that of the mouthwash and I smell like a beach babe.

Hmm very interesting! I want to try it. This might be a stupid question, but are you supposed to swallow it at the end? And how long are you 'supposed' to do it for?
Edit: Nevermind, I'm finding the answers to those questions within the thread you posted ![]() Last edited by SpaceCowgirl : 08-01-2008 at 12:14 AM. |

They recommend 20 mins...thats why I posted, so I could pass the time! Don't swallow it, once you swish with it, the toxins come out in the oil. I admit, I do feel rather calm and comfortable tonight. No weird aches or pains or anything. But I think it's more that I'm eating the coconut oil and in Ketosis that is doing that.

For your hair, you can put coconut oil in it about 45 minutes before you wash your hair. Like an "Oil Treatment". That's how I use it. If you really want your hair to look and feel healthy and to help out with your split ends...You need to try Jojoba oil. A little bit goes a long way and it does amazing things to your hair. I even use a little bit to style my hair. I LOVE IT!!! My hair is soft, easy to manage now and I can't see any split ends. I also have colored my hair for years and it's never looked this healthy. Do a search on "Jojoba Oil". Hey, I had to work my way up to 20 minutes with the oil pulling. I think when I first started, I was lucky if I could do five minutes! ![]()

I made it 15, does that count? It wasn't bad at all. Didn't taste like oil, tasted like spit really. And was kinda fun....
Cowgirl, how did it go? |

It went pretty good, after the initial 'grossness' of the hard oil going into my mouth, I didn't really taste much. I haven't done it since but I might give it another go tonight ![]() |
