I usually gain 3 - 5 lbs of nasty warter bloat the day before. It sticks around for about 10 days and then I will suddenly drop to about a pound less than where I started from. Grrrrr...I spend a 3rd of each month bloated

I cannot be normal and crave sweets like most women I know...that would be too easy to deal with. I tend to crave salty food and I know if i give in to the cravings, the extra salt is going to make the bloating worse.

I try not to weigh once I start to feel PMS symptoms coming on - bloating, cranky, tired etc... I've learned it plays funny games with my head to see that 5lb weight gain the week before TOM so, I just say away from the scale. I also tend to eat a lot more - still on plan, no cheating - but, I do eat more during TOM.

For me, my weight doesn't totally go away for about a week after TOM which stinks

I do double up on my vitamin C during that time. It helps tremendously with the water weight.

I am the same! I've never really had a sweet tooth. Salty and crunchy all the way. Chips, cheesies, popcorn, nuts....

I always retain about 5-7lbs of water during TOM, if I eat more chicken during that time (about a week and a half of water retention for me), after TOM it comes right off within 24 -48 hours.

As for cravings-- the thing that hits the spot for me is Low Carb Peanut Butter Fudge but I make sure I keep it in moderation. During the summer I keep the fudge in the freezer so it's like a frozen treat. Very yummy.

I am always up the week before, usually about 5 pounds, then stagnate the week of, and get a downward whoosh the week after. That's why I look at what I lose from month to month rather than day to day or week to week. Otherwise, it's just too depressing.

That is very doable - I could do that.

Do you make your own Greek yoghurt -if so how? Normally I make yoghurt with milk, but isn't that something we should avoid? Can I make it with cream?

Depends on your carb intake, your plan or your place on the carb ladder. I am on Barry Groves "Natural Health and Weight Loss". My carb allowance is under 60g/day. Yogurt fits in that plan quite nicely.

I have made my own...and the best batches I have made were CREAM ONLY If I can find full-fat greek yogurt in the stores I will buy that too. My last batch was a tub of Mountain High Plain Yogurt and I just drained it overnight in a piece of cheese cloth.

No matter how you make it, it's a way better option than eating an entire box of little debbie's swiss rolls like I used to!

Sounds like I could have written this. I always have said that, "I feel like I only get one 'normal' week out of every month". It really sucks
I feel your pain!

I am all over the map on this one. I know I gain, I don't weigh because I'd get freaked out. My stomach blows up like I'm 6 months prego, my fingers swell and I eat like a pig. TOM can kiss my hiney!

I don't weigh anymore but I used to daily and I was always up two to three pounds in the three to four days before my period and if I'd been sticking to my WOE two to three days in to my period I will lose all that water weight plus a pound or (rarely) two extra.

The hunger around the time of your period is supposedly accounted for by the fact that your body is burning approx. 300 extra calories a day. I let myself eat as much as I want (on plan) in the few days when I am coming a little unhinged. It's the only thing that stops me from jumping off the wagon so to speak and it hasn't hindered my progress.

This is ME, except I will see my lowest weight of the month on about day 2-3 of TOM, and then it wobbles up and down those 2lbs until it finally sticks for good a week or so later. I am up today, TOM will be here tomorrow, so I look forward to weighing myself on Thurs/Fri, how weird is THAT??? (and how convenient it is around a full moon when DH turns into a man with PMS LOL)

Yes, pretty much the same story with me.... My TOM just messes up the entire month and I battle back from that hoping that I am at least the same weight.... It is indeed a struggle...
