L (slept till 1pm) 1/4 lb chuck cheeseburger on oopsies
S 1/2 cantelope and a dozen or so cherries (it's fruit season...)
S 4 strips of bacon
S a bite of my wife's atkins bar. (cinnamon bun - ok)
D maybe another hamburger.

Weird day. beats me how far off of normal I am - guess around 40-50 carbs. The atkins bar says 1 net carb, but I only had a bite and you know how they lie...

Wow..

I'm amazed ...

it seems that people are eating like birds...barely eating anything...all I hear is eat...eat...get enough fat...this is like the anorexic group.

What's up? I've been eating very little the last few days because of some stomach thing...but...maybe I'm not aware and the carbs in the recipes are up there?

I've been snitching cherries all day. I finally looked them up - 22 carbs per cup - I measured! I fit 20 in a cup. I don't think I've had that many...

Alright, maybe I'm a jerk, but I just take it that when an Atkins bar or shake says 1 or 2 carbs...that's true...am I missing something?

It depends how you digest the sugar alcohols and glycerine-these 2 things are deducted from the carb count. If you are digesting them with no stomach discomfort it means you are actually digesting the sugar alcohols-most count half the carbs for these then.

I just made a really tasty lunch that I will bring to work for dinner as well (I work second shift). I sauteed zucchini, yellow summer squash and broccoli slaw in olive oil with garlic salt and pepper, I sliced and fried up some feta and spinach chicken sausages to mix in with the veggies, then added some halved fresh grape tomatoes. I made a sauce of cream cheese and a little bit of milk with pepper and poured it all over the mixture. It's such creamy goodness!

Clairtique I am not eating like a bird! I have ate more on this diet than on any other diet in my life! Where else can I have "heavy cream" in my coffee!

I love this LC thing!

Right now, I'm eating a piece of baked chicken with melted Pepper Jack cheese on top.....wow!

I'm not one of 'em - I eat constantly. Breakfast, a snack about 10, lunch around 12, snack around 3, dinner at 6 or so, another snack later if I want one (although I usually like a cup of strong herbal tea or a diet soda in the evening). I eat often, don't stop till I'm satisfied, usually drink coffee with real cream in the morning, and at least 80 oz. water during the day.

I have noticed that since I started on Atkins that I'm not nearly as hungry, so while I eat regularly, I'm not eating as much. I'm not working on portion control, btw, it's just happening.

Tenn

PS According to FitDay I average 1860 calories a day - definately not anorexic LOL.
