My bloodwork!!
Ok here we go...
Blood sugar-85 Woo hoo (put that in your pipe & smoke it Doc!!) ![]() Bad cholesterol-211 Good cholesterol-69 Thyroid is normal What is funny is my doctor told me a few years back(when I did l/c) to "watch" eating all that meat because my cholesterol would go through the roof. ![]() Well, before I started low carbing this time, my cholesterol was 211, that's eating junk. Processed foods. So, I eat steak 5 & 6 times a week (with BUTTER) and my bad cholesterol is still 211. Hmmmm. All I got to say is, I love low carbing!

Your numbers are great...especially the blood sugar. So what was your LDL? And when you say "bad" do you mean your total cholesterol was 211?

That's all he told me on the phone. He said everything looked good. I guess the 211 is total cholesterol.

Hon, call him back and get all the numbers so you can compute the ratios!
Total means nothing; but if you take LDL and divide it by HDL, anything less than 3.3 is low risk for coronary heart disease. Betty |

I always ask for a copy of my labs if I am in the office, or have them fax or send me a copy and I keep them in a file, helps to go back to compare, etc.
Good job! |

Yes, I ALWAYS get a copy of the lab sheet. They will make a copy for you that you can pick up or they can fax you a copy. I have a spread sheet on my computer that I plug the numbers into each year. It is really interesting to see them compared side by side. I only wish I had done it way before. I don't really remember what my fasting glucose, TG, Cholesterol etc were when I was in my 20's and since I don't have copies of any lab stuff, I have no way of knowing now.

Michelle,
you look wonderful. We "started" at the same time, but I took a detour this May, June, July, but I'm back at it to lose these last 20-30 pounds. As for the numbers... there is so much out "there" (meaning beyond these boards) that confuse the heck out of you about your cholesterol. I'm very excited for your blood sugars though. I think that is one definate test that doesn't begin a whole discussion about findings...blood sugars are blood sugars and yours look fabulous (just like you) Congrats on your success!!!! Sharon (following in your footsteps left in the sand)
