when life gives you slop, make soup
Last night I poached some wonderful FRESH salmon that we personally caught, vacuum sealed, and froze just last week...
Anyway, this morning I thought I'd use the left overs for salmon patties. Well, they didn't hold together at all so instead of just throwing it all out, I made it into a soup!!! That was a good idea...So now I am having a nice cup of salmon soup. I've never heard of it before, but it's pretty good!!! |

Hey, anything can be soup, who cares if you never heard of such a thing before? If soup isn't made with an ad-hoc and surreal mix of ingredients chosen on the grounds of "we'll just have to throw it out otherwise" it's not proper soup. (Somehow I've never moved on from cooking like a student.)

Awesome idea! As a child, I always liked the story about 'Stone Soup'. Remember that one?

Soup is like casserole- whatever you've got leftover! (and kinda like low carb quiche!)

What a great idea!
How exactly did you make your soup? I frequently have leftover salmon around, so I'd love to know some new ways to use it! |

Well, I had put the cooked salmon in the food processor. Initially I was planning on making sallmon patties... Those didn't work...
So I just mixed up some lipton onion soup, and some chicken broth, and threw the mush on in... Not bad... I might try a little cream in it tomorrow...? |
