I know i probably don't eat enough...
My breakfast is usually a atkins bar and coffee.
If i have time I might eat some pigskins or some kinda snack
Lunch is a low carb pita pockets with ham and cheese and roast beef..
Maybe some peanut butter as snack or yogurt...
Dinner Is a meat and veggie....
I have been adding a little fruit but not every day..

The 5 lbs are probably from it being that time of the month. It'll come off. Could you possibly be eating too much sodium? I haven't lost as much as I would've liked on induction and upon gong back to my journals I noticed that I have been consuming an insane amount of sodium. That would definately alter the scale. For cravings you could have some crustless cheesecake or crustless pumpkin pie of course both in moderation. That might help if you have a sweet craving.

FWIW, I see a couple of things that could be causing you problems:

Atkins bars - time and again people post saying they cause them to stall. You may want to think about giving them up for a while and see if it helps.

Pita pockets - I know if I eat too many store bought LC bread substitutes, I don't lose. However, if I use oopsie rolls or Sherrie's burger buns (both recipes in the recipe forum here) I don't have a problem.

Peanut butter - another thing that can cause a stall.

Yogurt - what kind are you eating? Is it LC? What is it sweetened with? Artificial sweeteners can cause problems too.

What are you drinking, and how much? Caffeine can stall, and again, artificial sweeteners in soft drinks can too. Make sure you're drinking enough water so that your liver can work for you in your weight loss efforts.

These are the things that stood out for me when I looked at your menu. I hope this helps some. It can be frustrating - I know!

also please cut yourself a break for TOM. I'm sure its normal for you to retain water and go up a few lbs in weight. Stay off the scale 'til its over!

3 things I need to hide during TOM:

the scale
the mirror
the hair scissors

On that note:

IMO I would ditch the bars (or shakes if you have them), the pitas and the PB.

I don't lose if I eat those things.. but I can if i am maintaining.

I would wait until TOM is over, and then try a week of clean induction and replace those carbs with some induction veggies and more fat. (and some protein for breakfast too) and see if the scale is not so stubborn anymore.

Drink loads of water this weekend... and take it easy and most of all go EASY on yourself. We women did not get the 'bonus pack' when it came to creating us did we?

Each month TOM is my undoing.

Seriously.

I am one of those rare people who don't really care for chocolate-- pie, cakes, or the bars themselves. But come TOM and I'll damn near eat it for breakfast. Then not think of it again until a month later.

I wish I had a better answer...I usually make some type of sweet treat right around TOM time, and that helps, but portion control tends to be an issue for me there too.

What got me through it this month was recognizing that I was behaving like some kind of drug addict looking for a fix. :P

I asked myself: Do you REALLY want to be that kind of person? The kind who allows herself to go hunting for a fix? Is that who you are?

Tough love can work!

I used to be like that, too. A doctor told me (I know, don't faint -- useful advice from a doctor!) that it is easy to be low in calcium during TOM and recommended loading up on extra calcium (cheese, calcium pills) at that time. It does seem to back off the chocolate monster a bit. Eating lots of fat also seems to help.

I just spent 30 bucks on cheese from Murray's because of TOM !

Those bars always slow my weight loss down, I would suggest to cut them out for a while

good luck

Yes, yes-- the fat thing works well!

Calcium, huh? Good to know! I wonder if this is still applicable for PMS, not just TOM itself? It happens 4-8 days before my TOM like clockwork! Thanks!

And btw, I believe in (some) doctors!
