Weekend messups, Weight gains..
how long does it take everyone to shed the weight they gain after a slip up..
This passed weekend was my birthday weekend, and I must admit I drank and slipped up, but enjoyed it! lol I will not be slipping up for a longgggg time.. and I have not weigh myself since sat morning before my slipups.. I dont want to weigh again till I know im back down to what I was before.. lol I am debating if I want to weigh friday morning or maybe wait till monday.. How long does it take everyone else to get back to where they were after a slip up?

it took me about 5 days to get back to normal after my 'accidental intake' of 300+ carbs in the form of what I thought was 'heck there is no sugar in' tonic. That was a month ago (I am not a drinker BTW this is like once every 2 years except this month LOL)
This past Saturday I drank 6 beer between 4pm and midnight, felt like crap until this morning and only went up 2lbs but it is gone now. Thank goodness that wedding is OVER!! |

I'd say it usually takes 4-7 days. When I got to my goal weight in December '04 I slightly modified the "diet." it was my own little version of maint....5 days strict low carb and two days whatever the heck I wanted...and trust me...it was beer, fried chicken, beer, jack in the box tacos...really, really bad. But when Monday came around...back to the grind until Saturday. I literally gained and lost 5 pounds every week until August of '07 (That's the beginning of me coping with stress with mass quanitities of food and beer, thus marks my return to a low carb forum). So, if you do "slip up," don't beat yourself up over it. As we all know, the weight will come off. Obviously I don't advise my 5/2 days system until goal weight is attained, but if you screw up in the mean time...you've only postponed your goal weight by a week. Not really a big deal. As far as the numbers on the scale go...i wouldnt let the result discourage you. Whether you weigh yourself today or in a week; Remember, the scale doesnt determine it's own result, you determine the scales result. With the support of your friends and family, along with this forum, a momentary lapse will not kill you. In the end you will dictate what that scale says. Stay motivated...Stay positive....you'll do great!

I really think the scale does determine it's own result, random number generator....but your points are valid. Scales are just from the devil rofl.
