Any good breakfast suggestions???

Hi I am new, I started this WOE June 4. I have done pretty good so far but I need some new breakfast ideas. I am not a big breakfast eater but I noticed if I dont eat a good breakfast I am hungry all day long. Has anyone tried any of the flaxseed hot cereals? I have thought about ordering them. Any suggestions would be great, I just cant do any more eggs..

I like cottage cheese and bluberries. In winter I make a flax meal hot cereal. Just add water and heavy cream and a little vanilla and splenda . It is pretty good.

When I get sick of eggs, I usually realize that it is not the eggs but that I have been eating them the same way for too long.

Some ways to mix it up are:

Quiches – crustless and stuffed with all your favorite meats/veggies/cheeses
Deviled eggs – yep even for breakfast!
Crustless cheesecake – Mmmmmmmm. I add lemon zest and top mine with berries.
Greek yogurt with berries – depending on your woe
Bacon wrapped asparagus – I love this by itself or dipped in sunny side up eggs
Leftovers from dinner – I always make extra for breakfast or lunch the next day

My absolute fave is a half cup of pumpkin with an ounce of cream cheese stirred with nutmeg, cinnamon, butter, and splenda. 240 calories, 5-6 net carbs and it keeps me until a late lunch. Even better, I get a full serving of veggies at breakfast.

Sometimes I add nuts if I'm feeling smurfy.

Heaven in a bowl!

I just made a new dinner that I tasted and feel would be great for breakfast too. Doesn't taste egg-y.

Laura's Cauliflower and Breakfast Sausage Bake
*I used Banquet Maple sausage

1 box sausage (10 links)
2 frozen cauliflower (thawed) bags (40oz)
4 eggs
1/2c heavy cream
12 oz cheddar cheese

Bake at 350 for 30m.

I dished out a 1/2c ramikin (sp?) and I'm guestimating that it's 162 calories, 13g fat, 2g net carbs, 8g protein. I say guestimating because I'm not sure how many 1/2cs there are in the whole thing and cauliflower is so low in calories. The 1/2c may be 1/2 as much as above.

I know I sound stupid, but here's the deal. I put all the ingredients into Fitday and then do x (such as .06 or .12) for the serving size, but this was more a scoop, so measuring isn't accurate. I'll know better after I figure out, LOL, how many ramikins the dish can serve. Then I'll do better math and put this in the recipe section.

These are all normal staples for me. Egg Creme's are so convenient for my busy mornings. I'm more likely to cook egg's/bacon on the weekend. Just depends on my schedule. Leftover are easy to plan for.

Stratas are good too - mix 6 eggs (beaten), 1 cup heavy cream, 1 cup parmesan (or some other grated cheese), herbs, and 1 lb of cooked sausage in a bowl. Pour in a greased pan and bake at 325 until set - about an hour.

Also good, a fritatta. In an oven-proof fry pan, cook some sausage, bacon or pancetta. Remove from pan leaving rendered grease. Cook some veggies - zucchini is good, onions are good - in the grease. When veggies are cooked, add sausage/bacon back into pan. Then pour 5 or 6 eggs beaten with a little bit of heavy cream & some herbs of choice (basil? garlic?) plus salt and pepper over the top of the meat/veggies. Let bottom set, but leave top unset. Sprinkle cheese over top and then put pan under broiler until eggs set on top and cheese melts. Cut into wedges and serve. Also good with some sliced tomatoes on top and a drizzle of high-quality EVOO.

Place in a blender:

4 eggs
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup Davinci SF syrup
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cinnamon (optional)

Butter either a small casserole dish or 4 individual small custard
cups and pour in the custard mix...Place in a water bath at
350 for 35-45 minutes until custard is set. The casserole would
probably take 45 minutes..and the cups 35 minutes..

This is one of my favorite things..You can sprinkle cinnamon or
nutmeg on top of it and enjoy.

One Serving is your heavy cream for the day on induction.

I usually eat either egg salad, tuna salad or chicken salad for breakfast. I start with a basic recipe but change up the added ingredients to vary the flavors (such as throwing in curry, or mustard, or olives or herbs...). This seems to work well for me. Sometimes I make it in the evening, but usually I throw it together in the morning--takes less than 5 mins (I keep hard-boiled eggs handy).

I've never been one for cereal or a sweet breakfast though. But if you are, I would go for the pumpkin concoction! I have made something very similar for an afternoon snack and it was great!

Best,
Katie

For me it's deviled eggs. Just grab from the fridge and pop them in your mouth. Also, walmart has pre-cooked sausage patties that you can just microwave for a minute and they taste exactly like McDonalds sausage patties.

I love this recipe. I make mine in 4 ramekins and then I can have just one a day. They're best when warm, IMO. I think I have one left in my fridge right now. . .I may have to work it into tomorrow's menu. Hmmmm. . .coffee or custard. . .what a choice to have to make!

Almond flour muffins, FAGE yogurt with cocoa or Lindt chocolate stirred, cabbage fried in bacon grease, pb n' celery, and the easiest option out of all of 'em... leftovers from the night before! Steak and eggs is a great combo. I discovered it on a diner's menu and have been making it ever since.

I don't specifically stick to any low-carb program even though I am a fan of low-carbing in general, but my breakfast is usually the same on most days, lots of tuna, a teaspoon of mayo or cream cheese, lots of lettuce inbetween 2 slices of low carb bread. Then I have a full glass of high protein skimmed milk with some instant coffee powder and splenda. I might have a cucumber, a small apple or a few pieces of almonds with that, depending on how low-carb I wanna go that day. If I want to seriously cut carbs I also omit the breads and the milk and I make a whole lot of tuna salad instead with lowcarb dressing and have more nuts, almonds usually. If I get bored of tuna I go for an omlette or chicken breast, and occasionally minced beef.

I love these! I put them in the oven before I get in the shower and they are ready when I come out. I make a breakfast "sandwich" with the patty and two half-slices of cheddar sandwich cheese.

I am new here, but just tried the One Minute Muffin recipe from this site. It is really pretty good. Tomorrow I think I will make one and put my scrambled egg and sausage inside it for a breakfast sandwich. Maybe a little cheese too.

I am glad I found this site because I am so non creative.

I got to the point where I couldn't eat another egg and needed something different. I bought some of the Atkins bars and they are not bad. I have seen that some here don't approve of them, but they have helped me to add a little more variety to breakfast. Seriously, I was at the point where the thought of another egg just made me So, I will just use the bars moderately.

I am going to search the site now and try to figure out what an egg cream is.

Egg cremes are like a shake or liquid breakfast. I make mine like this:

1 egg
1/2 cup hot water
1 cup of decaf coffee
1 tsp of davinci's caramel syrup
heavy cream

i make the coffee and in the blender i put the egg, hot water, syrup and heavy cream and blend it smooth. I pour the coffee in a 15 oz glass and then pour the egg mixture into it. YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i usually like this after having exercised. Since my microwave died i haven't made them tho.....

I would be especially interested in knowing how to make the pumpkin egg cremes tho........

i usually make eggs and something in the morning. This morning i had scrambled eggs and celery with cream cheese wrapped in turkey. I also LOVE bacon wrapped asparagus. I've also eaten that with pork chops or chicken breast for breakfast.

I also like scotch eggs. If you don't know what it is, it's a hard boiled egg inside a ball of ground meat or sausage. You bake it in a muffin pan for about a half hour. It is served with hollandaise sauce but i've just eaten them plain or with dijon. They are great for a quick or on the go breakfast or dinner for that matter!!!

I also have lined a muffin pan with two slices of turkey or ham, cracked an egg in it and topped with cheese. bake at 350 for about 20 mins or till the egg looks cooked. PUt the cheese on towards the end. I call em Lucki's Breakfast muffins.

And finally but not least...i make oopsie's for breakfast. I take two regular oopsie rolls and make french toast like you would make it with bread. They are REALLY good!!! I tried to make them as pancakes and they were ok....the french toast is better. I've also made the oopsie recipe and made waffles out of them too. THey are the best but VERY addictive!!! I make them for special occassions now!!! here is the basic recipe:

3 eggs
3 oz cream cheese
4 packets of splenda ( i use flavored or davinci's)
cream of tartar
pinch of salt

separate the eggs. with the whites add creme of tartar and beat till stiff.
with the yolks add the cream cheese, splenda and salt. (for waffles I add a scoop of protein powder).
Mix the yolks up and then fold into whites carefully.
For regular oopsie's make 6 mounds on a cookie sheet. For waffles spoon mixture over hot greased waffle iron and cook like waffles.

Bake regular oopsies at 300 for 1/2 hour. You use them to make egg sandwiches with bacon and cheese too. Just about anything.
