Any suggestions....HELP my head hurts.

I have a bad headache. I have had it for 2 days now. I am assuming it is due to re starting induction. I have had them before but was wondering if anyone had any remedies that may help to ease or get rid of this pain.
Thank you in advance.

If you gave up caffeine cold turkey that might be causing it?? Maybe cut back slower.
I never had induction flu so that's the extent of my knowledge. But then I didn't go cold turkey on the caffeine. I cut it out slowly before I started. Good luck toots!

Withdrawal from caffeine is what triggers migraines for me.

I have headaches for the past 8 years! Mine are muscular at the back of my head. Through many years of physical therapy and doctors, one thing that helps me is counter pressure.

What I do is I put 2 tennis balls inside of a tube sock and tie the end of the sock up. Lay down and put the balls in/on the area of the head, neck, back etc where you are having pain and lay on them for awhile. (The balls are put between your body and the bed/floor)

Otherwise some coffee or meds help.

If you have never had serious headaches and they continue, then I would recommend you call your doctor.

Every time I start induction, I get a major headache. So what I would do is alternate between Tylenol & Advil. It will go away after a few days. Hang in there kiddo!

My favorite concoction...only if you haven't given up caffeine, is...

2 Excedrin taken with some iced coffee or caffeinated Diet soda.

If you have given up caffeine, then I would try lots of water with Advil and Tylenol alternated every 2 hours...sometimes headaches are caused by dehydration.

I would love to read some homeopathic ideas...as the longer I LC, the more natural I like to keep things...

Hope you feel better soon!

The only thing that works for me when I get a bad headache is Excedrin Migraine. Normally I'm a big fan of Advil but that doesn't cut it when I get one of those nasty things. They're NOT migraines, because I have no sensitivity to light or sound and no auras or anything, I think they're triggered by sinus problems normally, but that stuff does the trick for me!

The only difference between Excedrin and Excedrin Migraine is that it has caffeine added. My neuro advises me to take my migraine meds with coffee if I can-caffeine dilates the blood vessels.

Could anything you've eaten have nitrates or MSG? Some people get headaches from those. I bought a grilled fish fillet and didn't notice till I got home that it had MSG. (No carbs but MSG.)

If it is withdrawal from caffeine, I sympathize. Peppermint tea (to aid digestion and calm the nerves), lots of water and naps helped me when I went off. (I went from 2 pots a day to 1 cup a day years ago.) Taking a hot shower just before bed also helped me relax enough to sleep.

The last time I had one of those I got the vicoden from the back of the cabinet! They were almost 2 years old, but I knew I saved them for a reason!

I vote for the double advil liquigel and tylenol- sounds like you'd have it covered.

I agree with this and I have to say, a lot of times we take medicine when we really don't need it. Now don't get me wrong, sometimes we need it, but I was shocked when I realized that my headaches ofen go away simply by drinking water. Headaches can be a sign of dehydration, and even when I didn't think I was dehydrated, drinking water helped, even with a splitting headache.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

I used to get really bad headaches and normally 3 aleve combined with caffeine worked almost instantly for me. It took only minutes before I started to feel the difference.

I am still a little head-achey. No caffeine withdrawels, wasnt drinking caffeine before this re-induction. Probablly sugar withdrawels if anything from all the junk I have been living on lately. I get alot of muscle pain in my shoulders and neck and it seems to be non stop since I started induction. I have done the ibuprofin and acedamedaphine thing already and it helps a little bit but not all the way.
I am hoping it goes away by the end of this week. Thanks for all the support.

You are too cute to have pain like that. How about pressure points? Temples or bridge of nose are the points that work for me when I have a headache or eye ache. Just pressing seems to interfere with the pain, seems to give some relief. Then I release pressure, massage nearby, try hot washcloth and some general pressure/massage. That's when I can reach the point of pain. Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint. Sure sounds as if you have tension in shoulders and neck that MIGHT be contributing to bad circulation to the head. If you can loosen those muscles, by hot towels, hot shower or maybe hot-then-cold alternating packs, maybe that will help. I wish I knew more, but I am averse to using drugs (on me) and in favor of fingers to remedy what I can when I am laid low by head/eye/neck pain. I sleep with a pillow collar like what they use for people sleeping sitting up, as I am almost sitting up on my pillows as I sleep. Bracing my head on this foam collar seems to relieve neck muscles of having to hold my head in position. Do you think wearing a collar or using a neck-brace pillow would help any?

I'm sorry you have pain. As I said, you are WAY TOO CUTE to have that sort of pain!

Aw, we all can see how cute you are. Even an old gal like me can appreciate a pretty face and all that russet hair tumbling around. Makes me grin, to see you purse your lips for whoever is behind that camera. Yeah, you're cute. Hope to hear that you are not in so much pain. Got that licked yet?

I take 3 Motrin and then lie down with a neck pillow under my necks and a regular pillow under my knees. 15 - 30 minutes later I am fine.

There is also a pretty harsh flu going across the country right now causing aches, pains and the usual fun flu-stuff, so it could be this as well (just great timing). My husband, son and daughter have had it in the last couple days.

I hope you're feeling better soon!
