It's Saturday, who's working out today

Good morning everyone!
So who's working out today?

Its raining here right now, but I'm going to the Cubs game today, so no workout for me today.

But for those of your who are working out have a good workout and burn those pounds off.

It's a hot, humid, sticky, sunny hell. It must be Houston!

The ONLY way to run - up at 5:30, at the park by 6. My speed AND endurance is way up. I ran 7 laps (about 1/3 mile each) in my half hour. Now I'm off to the garage (it is an inferno in the afternoon) to do my arm and shoulder weights.

Did the weights before it got really hellish, one hour.

Now DH is making "Take you out for lunch" noises. That's his workout, walking to the restaurant.

My waist and hips went down a quarter inch today - same measurements 2 days running so I'm claiming it!

Betty, can you still run? Or are you just restricted after the operation?

Going for a nice long hike in the woods with the DH today. I have no idea how far it is. I've recently rediscovered my love of hiking in the woods. I used to drive a long way to hike in places just like where I live now.

Heather, the surgery isn't until August 6th .. until then, I'm trying to run as much as I can stand with the pain I'm in .. today was rough .. but the thought that there are only 3 weekends left until surgery got me through the pain today ... Lots of ice and ibuprofen for the next 24 days !

I sorta wish I had scheduled the surgery sooner just to get it over with. I'm so scared by what I've read and the surgery pictures I've seen ... people who have been through it say the pain is horrendous for the first few weeks ...

Better living thru chemistry. Pain meds are your friend...Sleep, get up and pee and eat and take more pain meds. repeat as often as necessary.
If you take any thing with codeine, take some sort of mild laxative also, philips milk of mag caplets.
I work in a Same Day Surgery unit...if your hosp is like ours, MD will numb your foot (like the dentist) so while in the hosp ..no pain...but then it starts to wear off. At that first little inkling of pain, take meds. Make sure you keep in under control, don't let it get out of control.
DO NOT HESITATE to call your MD at any hour for any reason. He is getting paid big bucks to care for you

Sorry for the thread jack.

I did 38 minutes doing the couch to couch. Does that count? Today we are heading out to see Wall-E with the kids (smuggling in some healthy food! shhhhh.)

Ugh, we missed the gym, we forgot the hours were 6am to 6pm. I'm trying to talk hubby into moving our total gym upstairs just for days like this.

Betty.

Kelly, I would definitely move the home gym somewhere where you'll use it. I like having the garage as my gym, I love going out there, doing my workout, and coming back in. I only use the garage for workouts. But if you'll use yours in the house somewhere close to the bathroom, for instance, then move it there. My 2 cents. I don't have a gym membership at all, mine is what I make of my garage.
