Food suggestions?
Hi All-
As I mentioned in another post, I've been dealing with Colitis/Crohn's disease. Not fun, and I do NOT want my metabolism to come to a screeching halt. According to my docs, and a bunch of what I've read- they suggest "bland" foods that are easier to digest- stay away from dairy, too much fiber, grains, and high fats. GRRR, so what's left? In general, I FEEL better on LC. Can anyone suggest some LC foods that are not as heavy/easier to digest, etc etc???? So far, I seem to be ok eating small amounts of eggs, little bits of cheese (I don't think the dairy is bothering me), and some lean meats. Veggies and salad have been DIFFICULT! Anyone with digestive difficulties have any success stories or some no-fail foods? Thanks! |

No personal experience here, but I've heard of others who've had good luck with the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Now, it's not Atkins friendly, necessarily, but in your case healing is the most important thing. You should check it out. You can Google the book title which it came from: Breaking the Vicious Cycle.
