ok..Hate to admit this but..

THis is the first time in MANY YEARS that Ive gone on a total and complete bizarre sugar binge!

It started with a dissapointment in my career so I began to feel sorrry for myself. SO... I took myself to an all you can eat buffet. I went to the dessert bar and ate some desserts..(EEK). I rarely if EVER eat sugar.

Then I came home feeling very guilty for cheating so I got into my bf's cookie cabinet and started stuffing every cookie I could find in my mouth!!

Now I feel sick.

I literally went on this insane cookie binge

NOw Im drinking a lot of water.

Anyone have any 'nice' suggestions for me now??

We've all done that. I used to beat myself up, but now I'm trying to remember to ask myself, "What did I learn from this? What could help me do better next time?"

So ask yourself that -- then pick yourself up and plan your low-carb menu for tomorrow. It's another day. The past does not predict the future.

Been there, done that. It's very scary to me, especially since I never binged pre-low carb, and never even overate on low carb until a few months ago. You probably already know what you need to do--get back on plan immediately and once you have a few solid days under your belt, go back and examine what it was that happened so that you can create some "prevention strategies" for the future.

Get back on track and don't dwell on it. You are human and these things happen. Sometimes the pressure of being perfect all the time just gets overwhelming and you have to let loose. I get it. Just get back on track and keep looking forward.

Get right back on with your very next meal. Drink your water, eat high fat to kill the residual cravings and don't look back baby!

thanx all! very much. Im very aware of WHY I did what I did. It had absolutely NOTHING to do with hunger or food perse.

I KNOW It was emotional.

My goal right now is NOT to do what I used to do ---which is to beat myself up. Im going to acccept and love myself anyway.

Louise Hay who's books I read often, talks about loving the self as being the answer to 'every' problem. SO..Im going to do it NOW. Im going to NOT beat myself and hate myself but instead Im going to do 'self love' instead.

Itll be a different feeling for sure but Im going to start right now. Drink my water, get back on my lowcarb plan ..and love myself anyway!

You can't change the past, and feeling guilty about it just makes you miserable. All you can do is learn from it and move on, using that new knowledge to help you stop it from happening again.

It's hard, but we have to try and separate food and our bodies from our emotional state. You wouldn't go and put the wrong type of fuel in your car because you'd had a row with your partner, or lost a promotion at work. All you end up with then is a car that's going to cost you to fix later. I try to think of my body in the same way. In thirty years time I probably won't even remember whatever emotional upset is trying to get me to eat something I shouldn't. But I'll still have this body and I want it to be as healthy was possible.

I still get the urge to binge every now and then and I could see how a very stressful situation could trigger one for me too. Today is a new day, start fesh.

sometimes, ***** happens!!!

it was a limited excursion. you got to remember what feeling miserable was like. now u know, and u are getting back to feeling good. drinking water is a great 1st step. how many times i went on a bender for no reason at all. i don't even have the courage to do it in a restaurant. oh, no!!! after a visit down every aisle in the supermarket, i took it all home. thank the gods, episodes like that are not as common as before, nor do they last as long as they used to. if that is progress, so be it. I am sorry for your dissappointment. Other opportunities will follow. Like the Ferenghi rule of acquisition states(no, i don't remember what #)A Ferenghi can smell profit in the wind. Even Hewmons can sniff out opportunities. Meanwhile, whatever u are sniffing, see to it that it is low carb. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

You are done with that. You have stopped. If it was one day, the damage will be minimal. Frankly, you are better to gorge on enough to get sick in one day, instead of making eating a little bit of it every day a habit!

It started with a disappointment in my career...
Any ideas how to fix what it is that disappoints you? Are there aspects that you LIKE? If so, maybe you can focus more on those and manage the other aspects in some way that is not so likely to trigger you to do a self-destructive behavior. That's what really scares me when I find myself doing something that hurts my chance of success.

Hope you find a way to feel better about your career and yourself.
