Beginner Couch to 5K for painted klown
Hi,
I wanted to PM you this info, but.... I wanted to do the Couch to 5K program, but couldn't because it was too aggressive for me. I found this link. It's a program that gets you ready for Couch to 5K. The whole first month, you do nothing but walk. Check it out. Couch to 5k Conservative Run Program |

Thank you very much for the link.
![]() I read it over and I must say I am excited to start trying it out. Great for all people who are interested in getting started with a good walking/jogging program. Regarding pm's, I don't have the "button" to click on to send them, nor do I have pm inbox or pm section. ![]() I also cannot see the comments that people have put in my gallery. It says I have 4 (if I remember correctly) but I can only see one of them...weird...Anyway, yeah Thank you for the info. I will put it to good use. ![]()

Glad you got this, PK. I was excited when I found it, but have yet to do it.
It's on my goal list, though, so I'm sure I'll get to it someday. LOL |

Yeah, thanks again for showing this to me. I saved the page in my favorites actually.
After I came back from my normal speed walking routine I really looked at this plan more in depth. I REALLY like it a LOT and I am truly excited to get started with it. I have been walking 2.4 miles a day for roughly 2 weeks now so I am thinking about starting with month 2. I think it is the next "step" I need to take to increase my physical activity level (and hopefully my weight loss). One thing I read on the web page is that you should NOT go at it every day. This seems a bit confusing to me as I was under the impression that 30 mins of DAILY cardio was recommended. According to this site you should only go every other day....who knows....there is so much "information" out there that it's impossible to keep up. ![]() Can anyone out there clear it up for me? Thanks again for the link. ![]() Last edited by painted_klown : 06-27-2008 at 09:57 PM. |

I think the idea is that you need to let your body rest, recuperate, and build muscle as you are starting out. I believe the 30 minutes a day is a for heart health. Training programs, as this is, have the goal of training you to be an athlete....a different goal than heart health. KWIM?
