I absolutely love Hellmans. I used to hate mayo until I found Hellman's. My entire family eats Dukes, which tastes like it is spoiled to me.

Just finished a bottle of Hellmans....store didn't have any so I've replaced with Kraft. The family use a local brand Cross and Blackwell.

I'm not Moretta (obviously ) but maybe I can help

My homemade mayo lasts me about two weeks. But here's a tip:

If you make yocheese (strained yogurt like Fage) use a couple TBS's of the leftover whey and add it to your homemade mayo. It will keep your mayo for a couple months!

Awww... thanks. Don't you just love that line? Wish I could take credit for it but it comes from some lyrics to a song on a CD I listen to when I walk! The CD is called Skinny Songs! I downloaded it from Amazon.

My absolute favorite is spicy chipotle mayonnaise. It has zip, and it is tremendous for sandwiches and for deviled eggs.

I do sometimes buy small jars of flavored mayo at TJs... I have a little jar of wasabe flavored that is killer with deviled eggs and egg salad. Haven't seen chipotle but it sounds GREAT.

I grew up with Miracle Whip which I still like in an egg salad sandwich, but for everything else its Best Foods/Hellmans. I have made my own but it never tasted right. However I like the idea of homemade and I think if I just make it and use it I will get used to it. We can retrain our taste-buds. When I gave up adding salt to things, nothing tasted right. If you just keep going though, pretty soon stuff tastes normal.

I used to just swear up and down that it didn't matter, and Mayo was Mayo, and there was no way I was gonna pay four extra bucks for Hellman's, but I broke down and started trying it last year, and to me it is so much better, in a nice eggier way, that it is worth the extra money. I don't skimp on Mayo anymore. I do occasionally make my own, which I don't consider skimping.

Where on earth do you shop?!? I just bought 3 jars of Hellman's yesterday for 1.99 each (on sale, of course). .but the regular price is like 3.29. They must package yours in some pretty nice jars to hafta pay 4 extra dollars for it. . .LOL

I crack myself up.

Don't worry if y'all don't think I'm funny. . .I'm kinda punchy tonight.

I'm in a small town in Iowa, with one grocery store and a Dollar General to choose from. Groceries here are outrageous!! The DG brand of Mayo is 1.00, but at the grocery store, the Hellmans is like $4.59. We often drive up to the city to go grocery shopping, but even there, things seem to be pricier than what a lot of people on the boards are paying... when I moved here I was really surprised - I wouldn't have thought groceries would be more expensive in the Midwest.

At that price, you might do better with Amazon!

Check for special codes, but they do groceries. They even sell soy-free Polar tuna!
