I do this sometimes when I'm taking a cheat, but still want to keep the carbs relatively low.
Honestly though, when I REALLY want a cheat (I take cheat meals and don't recommend that to everyone), I eat sushi. Pizza just doesn't do anything for me anymore! Who would've thought?! ![]() |

Not to threadjack, but I can't WAIT for those big, baseball bat sized zukes to come around. (Nobody wants the big ones, so they give them to me! )) I make PASTA out of them. I use a Spirooli to make long, thin spaghetti strands and saute them up quickly and top them with my fav spaghetti toppings. OH YUM, they take care of my pasta cravings. If you don't have a Spirooli, you can use a handheld veggie peeler to make strangs like fettuine (thin and flat), but you waste more because you have to stop when you get to the seedy middle, where the Spirooli uses it all up. Sorry, back to PIZZA!~

Love the Pizza buffet and my dogs love pizza crust. We are all happy. Sometimes we order a large pizza to go. DH eats about half, the dogs get the crust from my 3 or 4 pieces and DH has lunch the following day.

I don't find the very little bit you get from 3 or 4 pieces of pizza to be filling and worth the hidden salts/sugars that may be in it.
Cali crust or Zuk? for someone who HATES veggies??? LOL |

4gotn1-- I hate veggies. That's why I tried this. Even my veggie hatahs love this.
The cauli is pungent. The zukes are sweet. |

There is a recipe in one of the older Atkins books for a pizza made with hamburger. Just mix up the hamburger with egg, spices and spread thin onto a baking pan and top as usual with your low carb toppings. I used to love it and makes a great leftover for next day lunch.

When DH and DS18 want pizza, I get buffalo wings. I usually will eat the toppings off one slice...but not all the time.
I get my pizza fix by making "pizza cheese." Melt some mozzerella in a bowl sprayed with oil. Pour some low carb pizza sauce on top and add pepperonis (you can add other toppings, too). I eat this as a snack sometimes...but I no longer crave pizza. |

I have before a couple of times, like when I was at my 8 year old nieces birthday party and was starving and forgot my food baggie at home and all she served there was pizza and cake.
If I am in a pinch I will but I find it doesnt always satisfy me enough unless I eat a huge amount of it, which I have done too lol. I LOVE the cauli pizza and I make that from time to time and I have also been known to buy/make other low carb pizza crust options. I have tried a few boxed ones, premade ones, LC tortillas and pita breads etc. I actually eat far more pizza now that I am low carbing than I ever did when I ate high carb junk. Go figure!
