The geatest inspiration

Hello all,

I have been looking through the faces gallery and the pics and avatars of random people on this site and I must say that you are all the greatest inspiration one could ask for. I mean that to be totally sincere too.

When I joined this site I honestly expected to see a lot of overweight people, instead what I found was an awesome community filled with FORMERLY overweight people. I'm serious, everybody on here looks so great. That really is inspiring to a guy like me who is just beginning his low carb journey (yes, for the second time, but who's counting )

It's a great thing to see all you doing so well and sharing your secrets to your success so that maybe you can help another person to achieve their goals and become healthy as well.

I just want to say that I think this is one of the BEST online forums I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of.

Thanks for reading and may everyone achieve all that they desire in this crazy appearance obsessed world.

Well, take lots of pictures of yourself now so you have before pictures. I was so embarressed about my weight I only have before pictures from the neck up. I wish I had a full front bathing suit shot of me at around 180. And a behind one, now I had a HUGE behind back then.

I wholeheartedly agree!

A picture says a thousand words!

I love this forum!

I love exclamation marks!

Take a lot of pictures all through your journey. There are many days that I get discouraged and look back over the past year and, only because of the pictures, I can see the change.

Painted Klown, your family and friends are lucky people because time after time I have seen from your posts that you are a genuinely nice guy.

If some smart woman has not grabbed you up yet, they will!

You're one of the people I try to learn from, actually, in the way you present your views - I always notice great communicators and I can see you becoming a real asset to these boards as the years go on, so don't go anywhere even when you melt, okay?

I need to take more pictures. I HATE being in front of the camera, though. But I do sorta wish I had a pic at least of my face before I lost 50 lbs. So I made sure I have one at 304 lbs so I can at least make a comparison at 250. Granted, I should prolly take a pic where I'm not stuffing my face with bacon.

I agree on taking lots of pics. I only have one before pic because I was so afraid of cameras back then. I'm getting over that fear a lil bit now.

Thanks for all of the kind words everybody. This truly IS low carb FRIENDS. It will be my pleasure and honor getting to know all of you as we are on our journeys to good health.

I do try to be as nice as I can to other people. I feel that there is already so much ugliness and hate in this word....I just want to be the opposite of that. Sort of a counterbalance, if you will.

If I can make a sad person smile it makes me happy. I used to be a nurse aide and worked in a nursing home with elderly people. I would try to do small things to bring joy into their lives.

One time I asked all of them (on the wing where I worked) what their favorite song was and wrote down who said what. Then I gathered up the music, burned a cd, and brought in a portable cd player to work. When I went around that night helping them get ready for bed I would play their song of choice and smile as they would recognize their favorite songs, and some would even do their best to "dance" in their chairs or whatever. Magical moments to be sure. Now THAT, my friends, is a good feeling!
My thought process was that if I could tell them a silly joke, or make them laugh and smile then just for those few moments in time they forgot about their aches and pains, they forgot about all the worries in their minds, maybe they even remembered being some place special and not in the old nursing home....Anyway, yeah I try and I appreciate that all of you notice my efforts.

...and as of the moment I do happen to be single...Hello Ladies. My name is Dave. It is a pleasure to meet you...

Sorry for the long corny post, I just started reminiscing about the old days....

P.S. Regarding the picture taking. I am doing a new picture every month on the 7th. (my start date) As of right now I have the first 2 months up in my gallery if anyone is interested in seeing my progress thus far....WARNING: I am not wearing a shirt in the pics so if you do NOT want to see me topless.....My next pics will be taken on July 7th. I also update my myspace and put several more pictures on there if you all wanna see a bit more into my personal life. Thanks for reading.

I just looked at your gallery and I can already see the magic of LC working on you. Keep up the great work.

Seems a shame that you aren't still working as a nurse with the elderly. You are just the sort of person who should be doing that work. I hope you have found something equally challenging and rewarding.

Thank you.

Now I am actually a maintenance man at an apartment complex. My time at work is usually spent painting and cleaning. Quite a change indeed. HAHAHAHA! But I also get to work with two of my best friends ever.

Hi painted! Regardless what Bacon-Mark says, I am a very nice person and have impeccable taste in shoes.

I do.

No really.

And it so nice to meet such a positive and kind soul like you!

This board has been a huge part of my successful loss, and more importantly, to my ability to keep the weight off for five years now. There's hardly been a day in the last five years that I haven't checked in on this board. I may not always post but I'm here every day. It really keeps me on track, and I cannot thank the people on this board enough for all the support and encouragement they've given me. LCF rocks!
