I can't believe I've made it 6 years!!!!

WOW..............I can't believe that today is my 6th Atkinsversary!!!! I told myself 6 years ago this morning that "only 2 weeks, Rachel then you can tell everyone that you were meant to be fat!!!" I had zero self-confidence then so I knew I wouldn't lose any weight. I never thought that Atkins would change my ENTIRE life forever!

I have went from 200+ lbs (not sure cause I didn't weight right away)to 120. I went from a tight size 18 to size 4. I went from 43% body fat to 11%.

All you out there that think you can't do this...................O YES YOU CAN!!!!! If I can do this I know for a fact that ALL OF YOU can too!

Wow! Awesome. Thanks so much for sharing this. I could be where you are if I hadn't done the off and on plan thing for the last 8+ years. But, you've given me new hope for now. I'm a little less than a month in to my last lifestyle change. I can't wait to see where I am in 6 years.
Congratulations on your Atkinsversary. You look great! So very healthy and happy.
I would be very interested in hearing more about your journey. Are they in old posts? Would those go back 6 years? lol

Rachel! Did you ever dream when you started Atkins that one day you would be an inspiration to others? You are!!!! May I ask if you ever stalled and how long that stall lasted? If you did stall, did you do anything different to break it? Thanks, and again, CONGRATULATIONS!

I have been a member here since shortly after starting LC. I'm sure you can find lots of posts.

Here is short little run down of my journey.

June 2002-200+lbs/size 18 followed Atkins by the book plus worked out at Curves 3-5 X weekly also did some walking in the evenings w/a friend
August 2002-size 14 continuing same as above
January 2003-size 10 same as above but no walking with friend in evening
March 2003-size 8 same as January
Summer 2003-size 6 Curves plus walking again maintain this until August 2005
August 2005- tried a bit higher card eating plan; gained 15 lbs back to size 8/size 10
September 2005-Curves closes so I'm not working out except walking a bit
January 2006-size 10 join local gym for cardio only 3-4 X weekly
April 2006-size 4/6; quit gym because I'm starting run/walk 4-6 X weekly at local track
December 2006-join a "new" gym and do cardio and a little bit of weight training 3 X weekly
January 2007-start taking class @ gym; now in size 4's only
January 2008-start personal training sessions @ gym and change eating to build muscle/fat loss plan; body fat was 14%; 3 X weekly personal training plus 3X weekly cardio
April 2008-body fat was 11%; 2 X weekly personal training plus 3 X weekly cardio
May 2008-gained 15 lbs and back up to size 6; eating/working out plan was not so great AT ALL this month!
June 2008-back to my trainer's plan for eating & working out 6 X weekly

No I never ever even thought about it because I was sure that I wouldn't lose any weight! O yeah, I've stalled many times!!!! I have used a meat fast a couple different times for only a couple days at a time. I also changed up my workouts when I was stalled. Sometimes when I stalled I found that I needed to up my (good) carbs because I was being too strict. I did find out that drinking my water was SUPER important for me to lose weight!!!! I didn't lose weight if I didn't drink lots of water!

He has me eating every 2-3 hours. I eat between 150-200 carbs per day. I eat lean meat, lots of veggies, protein shakes, some fruit and whole grains. He has me drinking lots of water and just about nothing else to drink.

Congrats! I think your description of each year, size, exercise is very helpful and shows that it takes work to keep the weight off. You said you gained 15 lbs- was that in a month? Im wondering what happened?

Actually, i'm again to bother you again I wanted to ask you, i read on your overview that when you upped your carbs you gained 15 lbs, was that upping it from 20? B/c i'm scared to go over 20. Thanks for your help!

Congratulations! It just hit me that I would be at 5 years this month if I hadn't started cycling between the "Garbage" and "Low Carb" eating plans. You have accomplished alot!

My question is: What is your relationship with the scale? (Daily, weekly, never, hourly?)
