I'm a human Yo-Yo.
And I wanna stop yo-ing
I keep going back and forth between 167 and 169! I hate it. I can't seem to get past that 167 mark. It's been this way for about 3-4 weeks now. I've tried upping my Carbs to kick start it and nothing. I've tried Lowering them and nothing. Arrgghh it's driving me crazy! Please tell me that i'm not alone. ![]() I'm not giving up i'm just getting frustrated. i've got about another 27 lbs to go and want them off! lol Thanks

not alone.
I spent mid-May to mid-June stuck between 269 and 272. Was this a weight you've been at before and held? It may be a set point that you're fighting against. Hold strong. It will lose its grip. |

I know the frustration. I am only 21 days in and the scale has floated between 160 and 161 for two weeks now. I don't see a change in the inches either. But I have heard that sometimes we just hold on to water in our fat cells until our body feels it is ready to release it. So hopefully that is what's we are all seeing.

Stay off the scale!!!!
You know what to do. Eat right, count your carbs, and weigh yourself once a week...or...once a month. Go by how your clothes fit. Look at yourself in the mirror. EXERCISE!!! Things will move. Your body will have no choice but to lose with the absence of bad carbs. (unless you're eating a ton of high caloric items..then..uh...you're going about it the wrong way) By checking and rechecking the scale, even though you know you're doing the right things, is only setting yourself up for the 'well the scale isn't moving, I might as well eat this cake' syndrome. Don't do it!!! Stay strong, keep on plan, and things will get moving (and if you're moving...you'll only be doing your body a good service as well, and I bet you'll lose inches too)

Princess,
I have that problem as well. For me, it seems to always be the 7s...177, 167 very difficult to break through those numbers. You got lots of advice, so I just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone ![]() Peace |

let us keep it in perspective...
when u lose and gain back over a 100 lbs, and do that 1/2 dozen times, that is yo-yo ing. (i don't even eat STRING CHEESE). seriously, i know it is frustrating, but life rarely gives us what we deserve on OUR timetable. In the meantime, re-read the book, and do some tweaking in the food, and phys activity dept. You may want to review your meds if u are taking any. In any event, re-read the book. Dr
Atkins has a whole chapter on plateaus (if it is Atkins u are doing). But above all, PLEASE BE PATIENT, and be mindful of your successes thus far. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI |

Sometimes you've just got to wait it out. I didn't lose even a whole pound in May, but so far I've lost 3 in June. Just stick with your plan and you get past it eventually.

Try a 6 mth stall
I am with you on the frustration! I looked back at my weights, and I am going on a 6 month stall. I have been bouncing between 161-164 for SIX MONTHS (except for a brief period where I got to 155, that was because I had chronic diarrhea for 6 weeks due to a Rx). I have started to exercise in May and I am currently exercising 30mins to 1 hour each day. If the scales/measurements don't move by Aug 30th, I am going to check into possible thyroid issues.
I have removed large quanties of cheese. I have removed peanut butter/all nuts. I have upped fats, lowered fats. I have removed coffee. Nothing is working. Look at the bright side, you have maintained your weight and not gained. There are definate set points that our bodies like. Another thing in the back of my head was a post from Fawn on another thread about her set point at 160, the only way she broke though it was to eliminated artifical sweetners. I am not there yet, but it will be considered if this exercise thing doesn't do something. Something to think about. Good luck with learning about your body and how it works.
