This is what I have eaten..any suggestions?

If there are anyone more familiar with this lifestyle than I that would like to take a look at my diet and make comments or suggestions I would appreciate it.
FitDay.com - Diet and Fitness journal for Hungrysam

I had a metabolism test done at Cumberland Medical Center where you breathe into a device for 15 minutes while at rest (MedGem) and it measured my resting metabolic rate at 3010 calories per day if I did absolutely nothing but lay on the couch. I am trying to keep my intake around 800-1000 below that to drop 2-3 pounds per week. Maybe I could go lower or maintain while reving-up my exercise to drop maybe 5 pounds a week?

You should not go below 1200 calories per day. You should subtract 300-500 from your figure to come up with the total calories you should be eating. Never go below your BMR, it is totally unhealthy and if done long enough it will mess with your body causing major health complications.

More vegetables! You must have more vegetables. For the fibre, for the nutrients. Get the book back out and check out the range of veggies you can eat.

You mean you eat 800-1000 calories? what is your Body weight? That is way too low and you will damage your metabolism. Not only that but you will burn fat, but MUSCLE too! Definatley get those calories up! Trust me you will lose weight reguardless to what you have learned in the past. Atkins is a WOL to where you do not have to starve yourself!

I think Sam said they're trying to eat 800-1000 calories less than the 3010 figure, not that they are only eating 800-1000 calories a day. That's how I read it anyway.

I see that now....

Actually your menu looks pretty good. Keep those veggies in there and you'll do great!

Yes, 800 to no more than 1000 Calories LESS than what my basal metabolic rate is. That would end up with about a 2-3 pound per week loss. Honestly I am amazed because I am not really wanting to eat as much as I do. I could be satisfied on a lot less but I was told the magic is keeping it close to the RMR to keep the pounds coming off without triggering a starvation response.
Oh Bother...... I'll need to choke down a steak tonight with maybe a sprinkle of blue cheese, or even worse...I'll have to FORCE down some hot wings. Don't you just love this WOE?

I am just learning this stuff but was curious, what is the benefit of veggies? Is it fiber, nutrients that animal protein cannot offer? I was reading the Stillman thread where there are no veggies and little fat but they are losing. I am really overwhelmed and confused.

Diorskin, I'm not going to knock Stillmans. It is a FAST weight loss diet and in IMO should not be done for extended periods of time. If you are just getting started with low carb I strongly strongly recommend Atkins. Do two weeks of Atkins Induction by the book and see what happens. This WOE is so wonderful because of all of the delicious and as Dr. A calls them "luxurious" foods that it incorporates. See how far you can go on your weight loss journey with Atkins before you explore any other more radical plans. IMHO.

Agreed 110% DO NOT go for those "fasts" thinking you'll lose weight faster, well we didn't gain it over night, though we can gain fast with water from a cheat. Atkins works, you just have to listen and follow it. There is no need to tweek

One of the administrators at this website has written a 'Newbie Page'. So, you can start right away (please still READ the book for even MORE motivation and tips):
