I oilpull with the coconut oil, I use it in shakes also like you said. I also just started adding it to veggies that are cooking..
Last night I made candied carrotts for my daughter and hubby. THEY LOVED THEM.. I baked them in the oven with some coconut oil and a little butter and sprinkled a little brown sugar on top in the oven on 350º for about 45 minutes.. OMG I was jealous. I tasted them and they were devine, my husband and daughter LOVED them and ate an entire huge baking dish of them!
So now I cant wait to experement with other veggies cooked in it. I use the gold label tropical traditions, and it is very flavorful and cold pressed.

I also on occasion make coconut bark.. WHICH IS SOOO TASTY! Mmm Mmm Mmm even hubby and baby love it too!

I am IN LOVE WITH coconut oil..
I use it on my body in place of lotion, I use it on my hair before shampoo (cleared up my dry scalp in just 2 uses!) and I wash my face with it. and its great for taking off eyemakeup. (I put the oil on my face, let it sit on it for about 2 minutes, then rub off with a hot wet washcloth a few times) and now I have no more pimples! and my face glows!
I also use it on my skin with sunburn and it turns to tan overnight!
This stuff is like snake oil! its so amazing!

I eat it right from the spoon! I'm such a fat freak!

I've noticed that my hair is shinier, my skin is smoother. I've been oil pulling with CO, also and my teeth are whiter than they've been for years. I even gave some to my neighbor over the weekend because he had an abcessed tooth which got way, way, way out of hand. He ended up in the hospital! He told the Dr. that he'd been swiching his mouth with CO and the doctor said it probably helped. How about that!

I haven't used it on my face yet because I have such problem skin but I'm going to try that next. I absolutely love the darn stuff!

go for it!

some hints..
for your scalp (mine sometimes is so bad that it bleeds!) put it on your scalp and let it sit in for about an hour.

For your skin, try putting some on before the shower, and use a washcloth to exfoliate and rinse the oil off your skin. then when you get out and your still damp put some more on your skin. You should see a nice improvement from just doing this once.
its so wierd my face is oily and my entire body is dry, and this works wonders on both areas...

Someone on another thread had mentioned that CO will have a drying affect on your skin and make it look ashy. They reccomended that after applying the Co to your skin to then apply a moisturizer over it.

I dunno...just what I heard.

Oh yeah, start off slow with the Co. It can cause stomache cramps/upset. Start with about 1 TBL per day and work your way up to 4 TBS.

I got a Huge jar of CO last night- 32 oz.
I'm using it on my toe for a toenail fungus. I added it to my egg cream this morning. I oil pulled with it and I used it a hair conditioner and lotion. I've been having some issues with red patches on my checks and this is already evening out my skin tone. the only drawback is as a lotion you are kind of greasy for awhile - I left feet print all over my kitchen. - next time I'll put socks on after I apply

My hair is really long and I'm wondering if its hard to get it onto the scalp directly. Do you go straight for the scalp and bypass the hair?

I have really been using alot of it lately. I love it in my hot tea or coffe with cream and for chocolate bark, but I am really loving it as a "beauty product". I slather it all over. It makes my skin so soft. My scalp issues are straightening out from low-carb in general but the CO helps. I put it on before I go in the sun and after. But the very best thing I love about it is I have started putting it on my armpits after i shave and no more red bumps which I have always had a problem with and no more itching either. It is a wonderful thing.

I have been using coconut oil as well in food only (is wonderful in m cream cheese muffins), I recently mixed it with pure shea butter and put it on my daughters skin.

QUESTION??? What is Oil Pulling? Never heard of that.

ok, so far today i have used it for my teeth & me & my daughter's skin! she's 2 and has skin issues, doctors don't know what they're doing and have been of no help. she has had little bumps on her face from around 5 months or so, and now has them on legs & arms & stuff, i thought it was eczema but they say it's not... yet they can't tell me WHAT it is... so hopefully the CO will help!

MY DAUGHTER HAS THE SAME THING! its like bad bumps you can feel but they are not really red.. its starting to help her some...

and I appily the coconut oil directly to my scalp, then like comb my hair and put it up in a ponytail to get it out of the way, and out a little on my ends while its up in the ponytail..

My Tropical Traditions CO just got delivered (2 for 1!). DH was like "what did you order now?" When I told him CO, he was like, "Oh." No argument - I've been telling him how great this stuff is supposed to be, and anything that will keep the dental tools at bay is fine by him.
Can't wait to OP later!

Oil pulling is when you put about a tablespoon or so of Co in your mouth and "pull" it through your teeth for about 15 minutes. It whitens and cleans your teeth.

I love to make "macaroons" with my CO. I melt some CO, add some unsweetened shredded coconut and a few squirts of white chocolate davincis sf syrup. Make balls with the mixture and put them into the fridge. I melt some 85% Lindt chocolate in the microwave...sometimes I add a little davincis or splenda to the choc...then I dip the top of the macaroons into the chocolate. This is a wonderful TOM treat!

Deodorant! CO makes a very, very effective deodorant. I stumbled on that when I ran out and hadn't made it to the store.

I will never use anything else.

Does the oil ever "go bad"?

I have had my coconut oil for a while, and I am considering trying to incorporate it into my diet soon. My question is, when I opened it up, it has a small black moldy looking spot in it. Is this normal, or should I pitch it and get some more?

Yes, this is my SNAKE OIL ... I have been handing it out to neighbors, I have truly fallen over the edge. My first 32oz container is almost gone ... and I cannot remember where I picked this up!?!?!?!!?!

I love this stuff!

Yes, my dog licks my legs when I put it on, makes me cover up quickly! So very funny! I may even use some on some dry patches that she has ... there I go again, my snake oil! HA!

Oil pulling has been incredible for me too ... and eating it in my egg creams is already healing many of my skin problems: from the inside out!

This stuff is great!

I would pitch it. Virgin coconut oil has a shelf life of 2 years(not that mine has ever lasted that long LOL), sounds like yours didn't last. Nothing moldy should be ingested. Try getting a new jar and don't let it go to waste. It is good for everything. What brand was yours that went moldy?

You MUST be my Twin!

Umm...That "snake oil" does amazing things for dogs! I kid you not. Ingesting it (go slow, with small amounts at first) does amazing things for their digestion and it also makes their hair and skin glow.

My female boxer has allergies and her ears will swell and get red. I will rub coconut oil in them and it gets rid of the symptoms.

The "Joke" in my house, is that when something happens to someone, they look at me, Roll their eyes and say "COCONUT OIL"!!!!

I don't have the jar in front of me but I'm certain there is no carbs in it. I got my Virgin Coconut Oil from a health food store but I have heard others say they get it from Walmart. Make sure it is Expeller Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil it looks like vaseline and mine came in a clear jar (not sure if they all are packaged this way).
