Expeller Pressed(which goes thru a steam deodorizing process) still has the same benefits, it just doesn't have the taste like virgin CO does, which is good for people that don't really like the taste of CO, or want to use it in cooking but not have the CO taste to their food. It still contains the same medium chain fatty acids as virgin CO.

Are they little white bumps? My sister had keratosis pilaris on her arms when she was a kid. They eventually went away. My mom use to scrub her skin with a rough foot callous cleaner but it didn't help. I just thought I would tell you that they will eventually go away. |

i wanted to report that since i've been putting this on my daughter's cheeks the change is just amazing. when i went to get her out of bed this morning, just the glow of her skin and how much less noticable the bumps are made me cry! i was just so freakin happy lol i'm almost tearing up now it's so nice to finally have a solution to a problem that even doctors have been unable to help with. i hope the coconut oil keeps helping the progress of her skin condition, my poor babys cheeks have been bumpy for so long. she has such a beautiful face, and i only want to make things better for her oh jeeze i'm so emotional today!

I got the info from a book called "virgin coconut oil, how it has changed peoples lives and how it can change yours"
Its by the founders of tropical traditions I don't think they benefit any from saying that either being that they sell both expellar pressed and different qualities of cold pressed coconut oil. If I have time later or tomorrrow ill quote exactily what the book says.. |

I took a tip from Jimmy Moore and I melt a tablespoon of coconut oil with a Chocoperfection bar and make "Magic Shell" for my home-made low-carb ice cream.

Let me tell you, I had a dry spot on my nose where my nose ring is.It is very embarrassing (probably more to me then noticable). I have tried every thing I could get my hands on to keep this area not so dry. When I got my CO in the mail I used a litle on the side of my nose. In 2 days it is no longer dry. Amazing, really glad I got some of theis. I was told to melt it before putting in my egg creams. I drink mine cold. But I have stopped melting it. I love the little clumps at the end of my shake. Yum!!

HI ALL!!!! I wanted to say I was very intrigued and i been trying it now for the lat 3 days, and omg I think I am totally hooked, I had a very sore wisdom tooth and it dont hurt at all now my teeth are so clean , I cant remember them ever being this clean. I used sunflower oil the first 2 times, but then i got my parents to try it and I used evoo and i think i got way better results. My question is do u all think that CO would be better, I have some tarter build up on my teeth and I was hopin it would take it away , I have done alot of research on the oil pullin and i didnt think it would work but im very impressed so far. I love this site !!!!! I lear something everyday not sure if the oil pullin helped me lose 3 pounds over nite , but I think it might of.......I hope u wont mind me asking alot of questions .... i SEEN CASTOR OIL WAS BEING USED TOO is that really a good pull ? and what did u notice with the castor oil different from the others?

I just got TT's coconut cream concentrate. I figured it might not be so bad tasting (not a fan of co taste or smell!). OMG!! It is sooooo creamy and smooth, and it wasn't even that coconutty a flavor! Now this I could eat from the spoon, but am going to make the milk with it, too. Still use the organic expeller pressed CO, and the old vco goes on the feet!
Can you tell I like my CO? ![]() |

Do you have a recipe for Cream Cheese Muffins? Sounds yummy!
Hubbingbird11, look in the low carb recipepart in the blue box on top. It will take you to the cream cheese muffins. I made mine last night. Put them in the fridge for a few hours or over night after you bake them. Let me tell you they are wonderful. I hope my boys do not find these or they are gone. (I am talking about the muffins not my boys)LOL |

![]() But I've got Virgin for cooking for myself and making Bark. BTW there is not a legal Classification of "Extra Virgin" for coconut oils. It is either Virgin or not. Extra Virgin is classification for the Olive Oil industry and doesn't transfer. There is no real difference between Extra Virgin and Virgin C.O. except maybe the price tag to get you to pay more for one. If you want sources on that, you'll have to wait cause I'm too lazy to go find it right now. ![]() I like it because I stopped having the patchy Phyllo Dough Flakes that plagued my nose. and BF keeps complimenting me on how soft my skin is. I love the C.O.Chocolate Bark. When I remember to make it. And It is heavenly in my hot apple cider. I even made my own non-stick pan oil by adding Lecithin to it and painting my skillet with it before cooking, though it still stuck my scrambled eggs a bit. I can't believe that just a scant few months ago, I loathed the smell of anything coconut

I'm not sure that the keratosis pilaris really goes away. Well, maybe I haven't given it long enough. Had it since I was a small child, and at 23 I still have it. FWIW, I think Dermadoctor makes something called KP duty that is supposed to help it. I've never used it because the bumps really don't bother me (although people have always asked what they are).

Coconut Oil
Oil Pulling, Wonderful Therapy FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions - Tropical Traditions COCONUT OIL! oil pulling??? OK, so the nutritionist at the health food store concurred with ALL of the claims I've read re: Coconut Oil: That it assists w/ appetite control & cravings, makes your skin softer (you can use internally & externally) and as Amber noted, it aids your metabolism AND she even went so far to say it is a "fat burner" - something about the medium chain triglycerides (I think?) someone more knowledgeable than me will have a better understanding, I kinda stopped listening after I heard her say FAT BURNING!! hehehe!! EXCEPT she did not agree with the part about it "killing Candida" Sorry Simone. BUT the person that told me that is also a nutritionist of sorts...so who knows? I would still Google and Research and see what you can find out... The Nutritionist said to use it like Olive Oil or any other cooking oil (or butter) and/or you can stir it in your coffee and/or eat it right out of the jar. She said you can mix with butter to diffuse the coco-nutty taste...XO, HB Dear Ladies, I simply love this great conversation about coconut oil. I use it all the time. I usually put around 1 tablespoon of it in my veggies. I use it like butter. The best place to get the most information about coconut oil is: Welcome to Tropical Traditions! I buy from them. I also buy their organic lotions/ soaps. They are the leader when it comes to coconut oil. You will find a slew of information plus books about the benefits of coconut oil. I know firsthand that the pure organic cirgin oil does help with Candida. My 18 year old developed a very bad case of it after having been exposed to mold in her school. Check out their website you will be amazed. Nicole Me too! I love new info! I really had NO IDEA of all the benefits of Coconut Oil. I always avoided it because I erroneously assumed because it's tropical oil, that it was "bad" for me. Well I bought some organic, virgin today (on sale) and I'm going to follow your lead, Nicole, and use it to cook with, I'm excited to try it! And even more excited to know that it's a fat burner and metabolism aid. Thanks for the links too, will check 'em out! So Nicole, I think we just need "the list" of ALL the healthy stuff you use because you seem to have a handle on it all! I'm impressed! So what other little healthy jewels of wisdom do ya have up your sleeve? ![]() XO, HB Hi Lynn! Yes, that's what mine looks like too. I was told that since it's a saturated fat, it remains solid at room temp, but that it easily melts with heat (even body heat) and handles heat well, so that's why you can cook with it, or even use it as body oil. It's a medium chain triglyceride easily digested and metabolized. And naturally cholesterol free! I think we're on to something great! Let's do as Nicole suggests and use it like butter or olive oil... AND I'm going to try a little in my coffee tomorrow. I'm, not brave enough to eat it right out of the jar (yet) but maybe we could flavor a crustless cheesecake with it ~ or would that be yucky? XO, HB Hello, The best way in my opinion to use coconut oil is to put it on hot foods. I use 3 tablespoons a day. I simply put it on veggies/ or anything that is hot so it can melt like butter. I can't imagine putting it in coffee. I have been using organic stuff and supplements since 1985. I lived in Houston, where they had just opened a brand new Health Food store. They use to give a lot of free lectures on a bunch of different health issues. Since I lived 5 minutes away I would attend the lectures and over the years I have learned a bunch of stuff. I will be happy to share all to share all that I know, however I really do not want to come across as a know it all. Nicole FROM BREN: I know people who love it in coffee, but I tried it and couldn't tolerate the 'oil slick' notion! I haven't read every message, but in case nobody has mentioned it, it's a good idea to ramp up slowly on how much you use. It can be a bit of a digestive adjustment, if you know what I mean. Another tip is to store it in a cupboard near your stove, as it's more likely to be liquidy in warmer places. One side effect that's nice (if you tend to be cold) is that coconut oil will help you feel warmer. Here's a recipe that makes the coconut oil go down easy: Coconut Bark Recipe 1/2 cup organic virgin coconut oil |
