WOE: Atkins. Eating to BMR
Start Date: September 2007
With prices what they are I try to buy whatever veggies I can at TJ's:

avocadoes
tri colored peppers (one red, one yellow, one orange for like four bucks which is a BARGAIN)
bags of baby romaine lettuce WAY cheaper than the grocery store.

If you can eat nuts they have a huge selection:
roasted salted almonds
roasted salted macadamias
are my favorites

Dairy: Heavy whipping cream, eggs

Cheese: mozarella string cheese
herb goat cheese
bags of shredded quatro fromaggio (four cheese), mozarella, sharp cheddar

Frozen: frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts, bags of precooked jumbo shrimp (i think 6.99 for a pound - these are SO convenient)

I also buy their "just chicken". Its JUST CHICKEN. Precooked and sliced don't get the terryaki flavor it has carbs. I don't cook much so this is convenient for me.

I buy Diet Hansen's Natural sodas. I love black cherry and their new flavor pomegranite.

TJ's specialty in the condiments area i don't know the brand but its called mustard garlic aoili. its like a mustard with a mayo kick. SO GOOD. All cals from fat.

WOOT! I'm a HUGE fan!

Off the top of my head:

Almond meal--very inexpensive there
Nut butters (if you can do them)
Stevia (but it's the maltodextrin kind)
Designer Whey
All kinds of meat/sausages with no sugar added (but read the label because some do)
Butter
Cream & sour cream
All kinds of cheeses
All kinds of nuts (cheese and nuts for when you're not in induction)
All kinds of condiments: capers, olives, olive oils, vinegars, pickles, mustards
Broths
Fresh and frozen chicken and chicken meat
All kinds of coffees and teas--extremely fresh because they turn it over so fast
sugar-free Belgian chocolate covered almonds!
Vahlrona chocolate 85% dark 2.99
guacamole!
all kinds of salsas
Soy-Flax tortilla chips (if you do soy; I can't)
Unsweetened Green and White Tea with a Hint of Mint in gallons
Flavored, unsweetened sparkling water

There's more, but I can't think of them now..

WOE: Atkins
Start Date: Which time?
I buy the following (and probably more but I just cant think right now):

Veggies
Berries
Heavy Cream
Yogurt
Eggs
Free range chix broth
Coffee/tea
Tuna (no salt)
Nut butters
Nuts
Lunchmeats
Chicken sausages (so many flavors, delish!)
Cheeses
Simmer sauces (most are no sugar and whole ingredients only)
Dish soap ( I love their dish soap!)
Various frozen goods

We do all of our shopping at TJ’s with the exception of purchasing most of our meat at Costco. TJ’s is actually a lot cheaper than the other grocery stores in SD.

It's also a very easy store to shop in Debi! You'll enjoy it. They carry a great deal of organics as well as conventional in most departments.

I want to Ditto just about everything on everyone's lists but I wanted to add the following, keep in mind I'm maintaining so...

1. Love their mayo, it has no added sweetner's!
2. Frozen edamame with sea salt
3. Their brand of fine sea salt
4. Crystal Geyser natural sparkling mineral waters (I LOVE the berry flavored)
5. The heavy cream in the small "milk bottle" with the pink top
6. Chicken sausages! No High fructose corn syrup or other junk added! I love the mushroom and asiago cheese!
7. Organic oat bran
8. Steel cut oatmeal
9. Flax meal
10. Irish butter
11. Sliced mango or other fruits
12. Some of their prepared salads, like the italian with garbanzo beans (I use my own dressing though, if there's has added sugars)

I absolutely love TJ's (as me and my coworker's call it) so I'm happy that you finally found one!

Pretty much everything mentioned above. However, if you like salmon..they have a great "Simply Salmon" in the deli area. It's just plain baked fresh salmon. Great for quick salads or just plain!!

They have great prices on antibiotic/hormone free drumsticks. 99 cents a lb.

I'm sure I'm repeating some of the previous posters, but here goes:

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Grape Seed Oil (when I want to fry my food, as Olive oil shouldn't be heated at a high temperature)

Chevre (great for those that are cow lactose-intolerant, but can tolerate goat products. To me, this tastes like a combo of sour cream and cream cheese, and the texture is more like cream cheese. It can be used instead of cream cheese when making rev rolls or oopsie rolls.

Organic Romaine lettuce

I used to buy Grass-fed beef, but so many people want it now, their current supplier couldn't keep up with the demand, so they are still looking for another supplier...meantime, they do offer Organic Beef.

Stevia

I look to see what other veggies besides lettuces they have when I'm there. When I can eat fruit, then I look those over too.

Uncured Beef hot dogs. I think they have the word, "Fearless" in the name. It's not their own brand, it's another company's.

Unsweetened Almond Milk

Flax Seed meal

Almond meal, Walnut meal, and Hazelnut meal

Ezekiel 4:9 bread (when I can eat it)

Organic butter

Parmesan/Romano cheeses

Real Buffalo Mozzarella (Wow! what a treat!)

They have frozen buffalo burgers, but I can't remember if they are Atkins friendly.

Shrimp, Salmon, Halibut, Cod

Frozen green beans from France! These are amazing!! Long, slender, tender whole green beans.

Organic eggs, or Free-Range eggs

Some of their teas and coffees are wonderful!

I think it's called Tonga tuna (or something close in name like that)

I noticed they have Blue Agave syrup now. Not sure if it is Atkins friendly, but I was told it is sugar-free, calorie-free, but is delightfully sweet.

So many good ideas. I have a huge shopping list! I'm not only buying low carb things, but things for my children. I heard the whole wheat pizza shells were good. I thought that would be better than Little Caeser's for them. Also organic bananas. I heard the roasted pepper tomato soup was good. Is that low carb? Does anyone know if they have the recycled natual bleached toilet paper? I need to buy some, and if it is cheaper there, I will wait. This is more exciting to me than going to my husband's graduation ceremony. I better not tell him that.
