I'm very intrigued by this. I did try one with 2 eggs, some cocout oil, no cream and no protein powder after my workout last weekend, but I was so hungry afterwards.

My scale is stuck, so I'm thinking I will try this for a few days with 3 eggs and protein powder added. I also like the coconut oil and wonder if the cream is stalling me.
I'll report back.

The cream or oil is what keeps me from being hungry. One day I didn't add as much in and the munchies got me!

I tried this for breakfast/lunch today. Used a chocolate-y recipe someone posted: 2 oz cream, 6 oz coffee, 2 tb cocoa, 1 tb, CO, 2 eggs. It tasted good although the CO was a little overwhelming. About 2/3 of the way into it I felt excessively full. I still feel that way, almost nauseatingly full. I think I will try without CO tomorrow.

Also, I heated the cream, then stirred the eggs in. Then stirred the hot coffee into the egg/cream mix. I can't quite cope with the raw egg idea.

I had one today, 2 eggs, splenda, whipping cream and a splash of vanilla.

I then added 1 (small) cup of cooled coffee and I fooled my husband into thinking it was a melted Tim Horton's Ice Capp.

he believed me!

Next time I am adding crushed ice and going to fool my ice-capp addicted friend.

ANYONE who has had a THIC, knows this thread would deserve a gold medal.

well I forgot the part about the small cooled coffee...I forgot to write that down.. when i went to make my first one just now.. i use hot coffee probably too much.. cause I had to add more splenda...

but I wasn't sure how much whipping cream or vanilla to add.. what are your measurements?

I used your recipe cause thats all I had in the house.. and I was excited to try it.. I cant taste the eggs at all.. but it doesn't bother me anyways.. I could care less.. but I am using one of my kids curly straws so it takes me longer to drink..

Im excited to see what the other ones taste like when I get more ingredients..

?... on the floats how do you thicken it up like icecream?

by the way.. im so happy I found this thread cause this too me is like my desert.. the way I made it it only has 2 carbs..

I am a dumper/pourer LOL I would guess around 2tbs of whipping cream?

and perhaps 1/4 tsp vanilla?

I did probably use more splenda than a packet (I used the loose stuff), next time I will use less.. I found it more than sweet enough.

For those of you who can't stomach the raw egg thing, I was thinking about making a big batch, warming on the stove to "cook" the egg and then refrigerating the whole thing together.

I'll try it and report back.

I made the eggnog with the eggbeaters with the yolk today. I used the eggbeaters, heavy cream, water, sweetzfree, and vanilla. Tasted amazing like the eggnog I remember as a child. I threw some ice in it and blended in blender to make it nice and frothy, yum!

I am marking my spot. I am trying this. After doing Atkins by the book for a month I've not lost a single pound. Well, I lost 3, but then they came back. I've gone back and forth eating LC for the past 5 years (!) and have never been able to lose more than 5 lbs. This year I turn 40 and I SWEAR I am not spending this next decade fat like I spent my 30s.
I seem to maintain really well eating LC but have to drop the calories to lose. Might as well try this for a while and see what happens! The lowest I've been in the past 10 years has been on a modified fast. Don't really want to go that far, but something has to give...

Do you use protein powder? I started using protein powder a few days ago and it makes all the difference.

I have been reading up on this post, sounds yummy! Does anyone know how many carbs are in these eggcreams? I may be trying these for breakfast. I have to get up at 4:30 am so I don't have a lot of time to make myself anything. I think I will try it with just the yolks though.

It all depends on what you put into your Egg Cream. In the Atkins 72 book the recipe of diet soda, one egg & 1 T of heavy cream was listed at 1.2 gr. of carbs.
I would figure 0.4 carbs per egg & 0.4 per tablespoon of cream. If you add CO that would be zero carbs. If you add protein powder look at the nutrition info.

OK...I have a suggestion. I have been following along with this thread. I am going to try my first egg cream this week. But everyone makes them a bit different. It is hard to find all the different drinks. SO....PLEASE post your recipes on the recipe board too. That way they are all there and easier to find.
THANKS SO MUCH

I do have a question about the protein powders. Are they carb free? Also what is the benefit of using them? Also if using them and doing the egg cream is it induction friendly?

Has anyone used coconut milk instead of heavy cream?

Coconut oil looks like shortening, but tastes yummy!-you can order it from Netrition.

Here is my recipe:

2-3 egg yolks
1 scoop of Body Fortress Whey Protein Powder (I use vanilla)
4 oz of ALMOND BREEZE, almond milk
4 oz of cold coffee (usually some flavored variety)
2-3 pumps of a Davinci Sugar Free Syrup
1 Tbsp of Coconut Oil, melted

2-4 ice cubes

Blend it all up!

It is so yummy and fills me up! I get bored easily, so I change up my flavorings depending on my mood. I just tried Unsweetened Almond Breeze in chocolate ... wow! That is going to be dangerous!! It is so yummy! I added some Creme De Menthe syrup I had from the holidays ... WOW! I usually have five or six DaVinci bottles on hand.

I just bought little Rubbermaid 16oz containers for "mix and pour". I made a batch of these egg creams this morning and filled four of them about 12 oz full. My DH even took one to work today, and came home saying they tasted better than his premade protein shakes in a can (which I cannot stand because they are filled with SOY!). I think I will be making batches from now on. I simply shook up the bottle and drank one at work today. Really yummy!!

Thanks for the induction friendly post. What is the difference between the WHEY stuff and the soy stuff? I got my protein powder today it is unflavored, do I need to change it to vanilla? I can do that tomorrow. But I was told to get the soy kind it is better for women. Also, I got mine from GNC. I wanted to try these so bad....so I couldn't wait for a net order to come.

Can anyone tell me if they have been losing while drinking the egg creams? If you have been a loser could you post how long you have been drinking the eggcream and which version you have used. I have been trying it but have not lost any.

I need a little help with my carb count. My protein mix is a soy mix and is zero carbs. I used one egg to try it out first. I forgot to add the heavy cream. But I did add some carmel sugar free syrup. It was really good. So....can these be made a head of time and put in the fridge? Is my carb count only 1 for the egg?

I have one of those pitchers from pampered chef that has the "plunger" on top so you can re- mix drinks before each serving. I saw someone post on here that she makes a large amount and puts it in one of those pitchers for later servings.

Eggs are zero carbs according to my carb counter. On page 96 of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution it says eggs are a "free food" for induction.
