cleaning out your colon

Hi everyone. So i want to clean out my colon, or at least try, but i am not interested in something as severe as colonix. since i go to work everyday, i can afford to be running to the john every 5 minutes. has anyone purchased herbs or something that worked for them?

I'm doing a whole body cleanse at the moment.....you can buy kits that are herbal/all natural at most health food stores (Whole Foods, Wild Oats, Vitamin Cottage) The one I'm using doesn't send you running to the bathroom every 30 minutes so it's perfect for me when I'm at work.

I've never understood why this is a common practise? I remember having my first child back in the 70's and it was always the practise to give a woman in labour an enema. The theory was to prevent an accident when bearing down to push the baby out. I can't imagine wanting to do something like it willingly.JMHO

No way i would do an enema but would like to see if a mild cleanse would be good for me.

I started metamucil and if you shake it up really well and don't take too long to drink it's not bad. And it's gentle and no cramping. I was feeling alittle constipated too and it did the trick but not sure how long I should keep using it cuz it is fiber and noone gets enough. I thought about a colon cleanse program too but wasn't sure of the effects it might have on my body.

I drink fresh brewed strong coffee sometimes with cream sometimes black every morning and I 'go' every morning regular as clockwork
Or try a spoonful flax seeds mixed with cream cheese and a pinch of unsweetened cocoa

Colon cleanses are just laxatives with good PR.

If you are blocked up, the suggestions given are good. Also try upping your fats.

I feel if you are getting adequate water (1/2 gallon a day depending), eating fruits/veggies, and going "#2" at least 1 or 2 times a day, you are fine.

If having problems with the bathroom, take psyllium husks.

yeah took psyllium and didnt help. i go once a day-every morning like clockwork but still feel a little off. I eat veggies, mainly raw at almost every meal. i also drink anywhere from 96-128 oz of water a day.

Gassy Veggies like cabbage.

Fluid intake,

Fibre intake,

Acidic foods like tomato, or a Vit C tablet, it is Ascrobic Acid and 2 of those a day should soften your BM.

You need the gassy food though to help move it along and out.

The fibre works for bulking the stool.

Hope this helps,

Sue

I don't really do a cleanse to clean out my colon.....I do a cleanse to clean out all the toxins that can accumulate in your body from every day life....I admit, it's not for everybody but it works for me!

Really, that is your liver's job, but I don't think there is any harm in it. Other than to your wallet.

I agree!!! I eat 2 of those a day and well, let's just say I wouldn't want to do any better in that department than I already do, lol!!! Seriously, two of those is a half cup of ground flax and it works wonders - and no you are not running to the bathroom, just go at your regular time (s) .. It is seriously effective!!!! and lowcarb and good for you ...

I love phyllium husks for cleansing, start with a T per day and work your way up to 3T. works really well, if you use it and eat a big mixed greens salad every day and eat lightly.

I've got four words for you:

Russell Stover's Pecan Clusters

Eat a bag then stand back. Just make sure you have plenty of reading material in the john and don't plan any activity outside of the house for ...say...12 hours? Oh and buy one of those Glade candles.

Once again Rory...you are right on the money! I have had the same problem..tried flax, psyllium, fat, I drink so much water you could float a battle ship on it..nothing worked..then I went and got some RS sugar-free chocolates! I love the rasbery and the mint ones! they worked like a charm!

I too have tried the whole colon cleanse and body flushes last summer...all I did was waste $100+...however, I have had colonics...(tmi?) I loved 'em! But that is just my own freakiness!

Try the other stuff first...then go for the chocolates! lol..sugar alcohol is at least good for that!
