Coffee -- not worth it (carb wise)?!?!?!?!

Jeeze!! 1 cup of decaf coffee is 4-5 carbs? 1 carb for the coffee itself, another 2 for the 2 packets of Splenda, and another 1-2 carbs for the half & half or cream?!!?!? Here I was, drinking it all this time, and treating it like it's a "free food" that I could have in unlimited amounts. Same thing with eggs and cheese, and a few other things! EVERYTHING has carbs in it, except lard. Do you all count the carbs in things like coffee, eggs, and cheese? Things certainly add up a lot more quickly when you actually realize how much you're eating and how many carbs it has per allotted serving!

Yes I do, that's why I limit my delicious decaf to once a day. Sometimes I may have a cup as a dessert if my carb counts allow. I always use decaf, heavy cream (2 tbs) and 2 tablespoons of DaVinci Sugar free syrup (this has less carbs than splenda so I don't even count it). So I would count mine as 3.

Coffee itself has no carbs unless it contains chickory. Go to usda.gov to get your nutritional info-it's where sites like Fitday and Daily Plate get their info. I use 1 tbl of cream in my coffee for .416 carbs and sf hazelnut syrup so my cup of coffee = .416 carbs.

I don't drink enough of it to make it matter - I don't count the carbs. I have a cup on a very rare occassion, in the evening as dessert.

Me, too! Coffee is my nighttime dessert. I use the SF creamer, Davinci's SF syru and top mine w/sugar free whipped cream. Feels like I am cheating. YUM!

I dont actually count, I just keep in my mind what I am doing, I have had great luck with this WOE, nothing has stalled me and I find I dont have to do a lot of thinking which is good for me, I just cant find the time to record what I eat and drink, but I am sure that a person may lose quicker if they actually did that. No matter what route you choose I wish you good luck, I also dont weigh myself I just go by how my clothes fit.

I have Starbucks at home 3 times a week.
I add sugar free cold french vanilla creamer plus 1 tbs of Divincis
caramel.

To me this is the closet Im gonna get to my old sugary ways and I cant give it up.
It doesnt take me off track like other low carb "sweets" do

If you can give it up thats great though!!!!!
I also cant gve up diet soda....

Have you tried the sf Davincis or Toranis syrups for your coffee?

Yeah, I bought 4 bottles of the Davincis (white chocolate, caramel, amaretto, and vanilla), and I thought they were horrific. I think I have something wrong with my tastebuds, because I know everyone thinks that they're delicious, but I honestly gagged as I tasted each one (and trust me, I tried them in every which way, adding about 1/8 of a teaspoon at a time, thinking I messed up the amounts). No luck. I was so looking forward to it too! Even flavored coffee freaks me out though, so I guess that should have been expected.

Wow you have sensitive taste buds! But at least you can knock off 1 carb!

hahaha I know, thank you to you!!!! I already changed it on my FitDay as soon as I read that (what I don't understand is why Fitday has it as 1 still, even though the USDA says 0, not even something crazy like .0000215). Oh well! Thanks again!!!!!!
