How many lost thigh cellulite with loss?

I am curious. I have been feeling really down about all the cellulite on my thighs. It only appeared a year or two ago but the weight loss doesn't seem to change it.

How many have lost cellulite with their weight loss? Did you do certain exercises? I believe I read here that at least a few have lost it as they lost pounds and inches.

Give me hope!!:

Last year when I lost 65 lbs, it diminished. This year I've not lost nearly that amount, but noticed after about 4 weeks of incorporating 3 T coconut oil into my diet daily that it was smoothing out.

Look in any health foods store, or the health foods section in your grocery store...

The cellulite is just fat with a different structure holding it together so you can't really get rid of it unless you get rid of the fat in general. I've noticed that losing weight PLUS weight-lifting exercises--or those cardio types that stress the leg muscles (cross-country skiing is great) do the best to smooth things out. My legs look much better after using the Nordic track and stair climbing. Of course, having tons of fat won't help much--that's what you need to get rid of. Another drastic measure is cosmetic surgery--I would opt for the diet/exercise first.

My cellulite has improved a lot. It's hard to see in this picture because I never let anyone get too close with a camera before I lost weight, and this was taken from far away, but you can see how big my thighs were before:

And this pic shows my thighs now:

I lost about 6 inches in each thigh and the cellulite is pretty much gone. Cellulite is just fat that is distributed in lumps under your skin. When you lose the fat it improves a lot.

There is no one exercise that will get rid of cellulite, but losing body fat all over will improve it. You can build up the muscles in your legs with exercise, and as you lose the fat that muscle will show more.

Not only did HIIT and weight training reduce mine - it also helped that I added in hot lemon water 3x a day along with it. That's when I really noticed it disappearing.

Thanks everyone for your replies. It feels hopeless but maybe it will improve some, although the last time when I lost 45 pounds, it did not make much
difference.

I can't seem to find any time to incorporate exercise. I know I need to but I just can't make myself find that extra 30-60 minutes in my day. I will do it but just not sure when I will start. I love the Walk A Way The Pounds Videos and used to do them late at night. I may have to go back to being a night owl exerciser.

I just want to second or third the exercise thing. My cellulite doesn't seem to go away with weight loss alone, it's only when I add in exercise like the elliptical and weight lifting that it seems to disapear. Even when I was still doing Atkins but not exercising as consistently I could swear it started to come back even though I was still losing.*insert paranoid smiley here*

Julia, you really do look fabulous.

My cellulite left with
exercise
plenty of water
dry brushing

You can also incorporate deep tissue massage in that area.

Julia - You're one of my inspirations to get my act together

I think just dieting alone really won't get rid of the fat/flab... it just shrinks it a bit... I had huge amounts of cellulite before, (see my profile pic) lost the weight and still had lots of it ...

Now since I really upped the weight lifting and running/jogging regularly it has diminished nicely... being in my mid-40's and having a desk job for 25 years I doubt I'll get rid of all my cellulite, but I feel good in short shorts now

Don't forget - exercise doesn't HAVE to be for hours on end... 20-30 minutes 3-4x a week is not that much time And it can be any fun activity that gets you up and about ... chasing kids, rollerblading, fast walking the mall ... whatever ...

You guys give me hope. I am 29 and have never had cellulite until about a year ago. So I hope with good eating, cardio, and most importantly - weights, I will get rid of my of my cellulite.
