Power of Positive Thinking
I've been trying to be more upbeat about my weight loss.
Instead of thinking "I haven't lost a pound in 10 days" I say to myself "You lost 6 pounds in 16 days!" Instead of thinking about the foods I can't have, I'm thinking about how I get to eat my old favorites, butter and bacon, again. Does anyone else do this? I'm looking for more positive thoughts to add to my mental game. |

Just got these weight loss inspirational quotes from the internet.
Hope this helps ![]() Ralph Marston Your goals, minus your doubts, equal your reality. Lee Iacocca You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. David Viscott You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be. We never repent of having eaten too little. Thomas Jefferson Take twice as long to eat half as much. Anonymous Your body is the baggage you must carry through life. The more excess the baggage, the shorter the trip. Arnold H. Glasgow One way to get thin is to re-establish a purpose in life. Cyril Connolly More die in the United States of too much food than too little. John Kenneth Galbraith Some people have a foolish way of not minding, or pretending not to mind, what they eat. For my part, I mind my belly very studiously, and very carefully; for I look upon it, that he who does not mind his belly will hardly mind anything else. Samuel Johnson

I always tell myself how lucky I am to not weigh over 200 pounds anymore. I appreciate the small stuff like how nice it feels to actually curl up on the couch. When you weigh 200 pounds you lose the ability to curl!

Positive self-talk is SO important. I am convinced that trying to be positive, as well as visualizing my goals have helped with my weight loss and maintenance tremendously.
We all have down days and want to beat ourselves up, but it's so important to tell yourself good things about yourself. When you start to think "I can't lose weight" immediately tell yourself NO, then replace that thought with a more positive one like "it might take a while, but I will reach my goal if I stick to my plan" It's all in the attitude - what you think is what you become!

A few of my favorites:
• The most successful people are those who are good at plan B. - James Yorke • Opportunity is missed by most because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. - Thomas Alva Edison • Everything can be taken from a man but ... the last of the human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way. - Viktor Frankl |

For me, it's "remembering where I came from" - As you move down well into onederland, leave that behind you as a milestone you don't ever intend to see again. Yes, it is work, but the rewards are worth it.

I am blessed with a "Pollyanna" attitude! I don't know why. I just always seem to see the positive side of things.
You're doing so great, consider yourself a SUCCESS STATISTIC and vow to remain one! |
