I just turned 45 (in May) and I'm going to be a Grandma next month!!
I feel so good and I'm doing so much more now (then when I was younger).
This weekend hubby and I went to the lake for the weekend. Boating, camping and ski'ing! I want to be one of those Grandma's that are busy doing fun things with their grandkids.

I don't want to waste any part of my life. I want to enjoy it all and the only way to do that is to be Healthy. You get healthy by what you eat and what you put into your body. Also, with exercise.

This has been an Awesome thread.

Maybe we don't look up to you because your perfect. Maybe it's how you handle yourself when you're not perfect that makes you so respectable. I have a huge admiration for integrity and this thread is the perfect example of just that.

Jen thank you, that is so very sweet.

Uh... ok so I had my favorite cobb salad at 12:30... no bloat no nothing. Just 'went' like 15 min ago and I feel my tummy movin right along like how it's SUPPOSED TO instead of being all bloaty, gross, hurtin and impacted.

PROBIOTICS RULE. I still can't believe how quickly these pearls worked for me and are continuing to work.

Also NonStickPam did say that my new thyroid T3 meds do speed up your digestion/metabolism so that is a factor also I am sure.

Have you thought about Apple Cider Vinegar Allie? This alkalizes your body and helps your minerals as well. It's an awesome product.

Of course I just did my handy Google search..

Apple Cider Vinegar, that wonderful old-timers home remedy, cures more ailments than any other folk remedy -- we're convinced! From the extensive reader feedback we've received over the past 6 years, the reported cures from drinking Apple Cider Vinegar are numerous: allergies (including pet, food and environmental), sinus infections, acne, high cholesterol, flu, chronic fatigue, candida, acid reflux, sore throats, contact dermatitis, arthritis, and gout. One reader reported that a shot of ACV saved him from going to the emergency room for heart pain. Apple Cider Vinegar also breaks down fat and is widely used to lose weight. It has also been reported that a daily dose of apple cider vinegar in water has soaring blood pressure under control in two weeks!

If you can get over the taste of apple cider vinegar, you will find it one of the most important natural remedies in healing the body.

Apple Cider Vinegar is also wonderful for dogs, cats, and horses. It helps them with arthritic conditions, controls fleas & barn flies, and gives a beautiful shine to their coats!

As a wonderful side effect of drinking apple cider vinegar every day, we discovered that it brings a healthy, rosy glow to one's complexion! This is great news if you suffer from a pale countenance.

Dosage:
The traditional way: 2 TBLS of ACV in 8 oz of water 3x a day. Add honey to taste.

John from Caledon, Ontario suggests, "Apple cider vinegar is easiest to palate when mixed with apple juice. It tastes like apple cider, plus you get the numerous antioxidant and natural benefits from the apple juice."

Lara from Milwaukee, Wisconsin writes, "I took Apple Cider Vinegar with a shot glass of Welches Grape Juice. It tastes a lot like wine to me this way. Much easier to take this way. I have a lot more energy already and I have only been taking it a few days."

Shawn from Boulder writes, "Mixed with ginger ale and white grape juice, ACV tastes terrific. Very similiar in taste to Kombouchu tea."

Lisa from West Plains, MO writes, "I like the benefits I'm having since I've started taking acv. But I did not like the taste and surely I'm not alone. I tried it with mango tea and one spoonful of the vinegar and an equal amount of honey. It tastes wonderful. I drink it at least four times a day. It's that good. Lipton tea has mango and I'm sure other brands will work. Now, go have yourself a cup 'o tea."

In summer months: Add 1/4 cup of ACV to a quart of water. Then add ice cubes. Drink this on a hot summer day, especially before working out. Your body will feel very cleansed.

In winter months: 2 TBLS of ACV in a mug filled with hot water 3x day. Are you used to drinking tea or coffee during your long commute to work? Try this instead. You will feel energized but not adrenalized. Add a few shakes of cayenne pepper if you REALLY want an energy lift!

To detox: 2 TBLSP of organic ACV in a 1 or 2 Liter filtered water bottle (ie Smart Water, Evian, etc). 2 TBLSP = 1/8th cup. You can add more vinegar than this amount, however, make sure you dilute it in plenty of water. Do not add a sweetener. Drink this solution throughout the day. The solution will be cleansing your system and kidneys all day long. That's the point.

There a few things you will notice within a day or two of drinking Apple Cider Vinegar: your allergies will disappear, your face will have a healthy, young glow, you will look & feel more VITAL, you will have consistent energy, and you will lose weight very quickly and keep it off.

We believe that apple cider vinegar is probably the best (and cheapest) detoxifier for the body. As such, it is should be considered a critical component to the fountain of youth!

THE ACV INHALING METHOD
11/4/2006: Jackie from Kamiah, ID writes, "If you would like to enjoy the benefits of inhaling ACV while sleeping, you can add a cup or two of ACV to the tank (usually 1 gallon) of a cool-mist vaporizer along with enough water to fill. Then plug it in and set it next to your bed so the vapor flows in your direction. Also, the book Vermont Country Medicine by Dr. D.C. Jarvis offers a wealth of information on benefits of ACV, kelp, etc. It's out of print but you can still find copies. Thank you all for your contributions to this website. It's a treasure."

Warnings:

#1: Apple Cider Vinegar & Dental Enamel

Here is the original email sent to us in 2005 from Dr. Yong, a dentist from London, warning us about the dental enamel issue. Dr. Yong writes, "Warning - Taking cider vinegar by sipping it during the day may very well help cure some of these allergies, however, it will ruin the enamel on the teeth to such an extent that it may be lost entirely. As a dentist I have seen the effects of regular acid intake whether it be carbonated water or a natural acid like lemon juice - yes very cleansing to the system, but a disaster in the mouth. It leads to very costly mouth rehabilitation which can cost thousands of pounds. The first thing patients will usually notice is yellowing of the teeth and sensitivity as the enamel is lost. I am very much into holistic medicine and am training as a homeopath so understand when people wish to look for alternatives to self cure, however be aware that regular intake of vinegars and other acids will have deleterious oral effects!"

Is it raw apple cider vinegar? It should have the "Mother" in it (the cloudy stuff).

I need to get back to it. You can dilute it in water but it still has a "Kick" to it. I have found if I put it in water and add Stevia Plus to it, it's like apple cider.

The Raw ACV also has anti-yeast properties. Putting it on your nails will help get rid of nail fungus too.

Put a tbs. in a glass of water and drink up. Or, use it as the vinegar in your salad dressings. Know that clear vinegars are referred to as "dead" and ACV is considered a "live" food. This should help balance you. You can check out some really great info at the Bragg website.

Yep, I buy Braggs and you can get it in alot of the bigger grocery stores or at a Healthfood store.

I also use it diluted in water for Cucumber and Onion slices to marinate.

I do need to start making the "Drink" again. It truly does give you lots of energy.

Thank you so very much for that candid and open glimpse into your life and a weakness which you have now arrested.

I must tell you that I have longingly looked at the Epsom Salts on the shelves and wondered "What if....?"

Thank you. YOu are not alone.

I used ACV after all my liver flushes to re-alkalize my system..

also.. for me.. when I do very LC for long periods.. I tend to get acid again.. so I have a bit now and then.. I usually mix it with a SF apple drink mix (a generic crystal lite type at Walmart).. the braggs is what I got.. at Whole Foods..
