Lisabinil, you do know that fiber is also good for the opposite problem? It will give you more bulk.

Flax muffins and lc have done the trick for me-much better than taking 9 prescription Asacol tablets a day.

Oh AllieCat: I am so happy that you are feeling so much better. Thank you for the information. I've never heard of the product you mentioned. I also have abused laxatives in the past. I could go for days not moving my bowels so out would come the pink laxatives. Even salads wouldn't work for me. I will definitely look into what you are doing now. Hopefully it will work for me as well as it has for you.

Allie, thank you so much for this post. I'm running out now to get the pearls. A Few years back I was addicited to this tea and i will never forget I was on the road driving and thought I got to get home fast or there will be a mess in the car. I went through red lights and thought how embarassing what will I tell the police officer and i started to think of what I could make up and then I though I'd say hell I am ready to release my bowels right here if you don;t let me go.

As for AIMinFLAworking the pain was unGodly for me also. Thanks God that crap is gone from my life..no pun intended.

Lisa,
it is a cool thread, isn't it? I am glad to hear you have it under control. I have IBD and can "GO" either way! Thanks for the coconut oil info!

YelloBrix,
Thank you! I am going to be trying that.. I LOVE Thai food.. I can never find the coconut milk without sugar added.. except at a special Thai store.. that is like 45 min from me.. I used to make the BEST green curry.. I am going to work on a good LC version.

Allie... I thank the LORD for you ! Wow... you hit home once again Thanks for sharing your story. It has REALLY helped me I'm going to try the supplements. I sit here in pain now... wishing I was at home so I can take an enema or drink a mag citrate (which I have become depended on). I think I have IBS.. I know I'm lactose intolerate. I hope the supplements will help me it's worth a try.

Thanks again

Meekness...

You found this for a reason.. I feel for you so much. stay here.. we can help! It is absolutely a form of an ED.. (IMHO). but you can shake it.. I remember how I used to think I was helping myself.. I felt almost puritanical about it. "Clean body clean mind" and all.. I think the easiest thing right now is the Pearls.. my Walmart has it.. and maybe add in some of the fiber (other please advise on this as I don't use it YET)... I am sure you can find something at walmart fiber-wise as well..

Alliecat, you are NOT alone! Many of us, me included, still have mental battles when it comes to weightloss, body image and accepting ourselves the way we are. The thorn in my side hasn't been a tea or laxative but I have caught myself resorting back to obsessively looking at my problem areas in the mirror and fighting the urge to skip meals! I have to constantly tell myself "You have lost over 100lbs., cut yourself some slack!" but some days are just easier than others.

I thank God that you were able to admit to yourself that this was a problem and that you have found a healthy way to keep the trains moving through the station and to help your tummy feel better. Don't forget, you will always be faboulous in my book girl and seeing you grow in yet another way just makes me more proud of your accomplishments and inspired by your tenacity!

Hey sweet girl
Glad you are doing well. I'm also very glad that you are so forthcoming with everything you do and go through. That's very important. It helps others learn. I know there are people out there secretly suffering. We've all been in this circle at some point and we have all had the same emotions/feelings/needs/wants when it comes to weight loss. Let this be a lesson to others. Don't suffer in silence.

If anyone is suffering out there, don't be ashamed. PM someone you trust.

Once you get your bacterias in order you'll start feeling so much better.

I love you girlfriend and I'm always here for you.

I'm POSITIVE I could shake it, if I was going to the BR regular but since I don't, I use enemas

What is the BEST probiotics to order? What brand does Walmart carry?

Please help - thanks

Me too - me too. If you'd be so kind to pm me as well I would appreciate it. Hopefully I can gt off those little pink pills as well!

You know what - a few months ago I heard on the radio some guy talking about the cleansing technique, etc. After I heard about this some doctor came on and said that it is not necessary and in fact it can be quite harmful. Your body has good bacteria that will be eliminated if you do these "cleansing" rituals.

Go Slow with the fiber. I tried to add too much at one time and WOW!!!!! So, realize that you might "over do" it and have to "cut back" and then slowly Up it again.

Don't think that because you can't take more now, that it will be the same later.

GroundFlax seed is a great form of fiber and has alot of nutrition to boot! It's also very Low carb friendly. I also eat fiberOne cereal. Those 2 combo's are all I need right now. (Notice I said "Right now"). At first your body isn't used to the fiber and so you will have "Gas" and well....Let's just say I lived up to my "user name"! So, you cut back a little (or just DEAL with it) until your body adjusts.

Just remember, you are learning about your own body. That takes time. There is no rush. It truly is a "Journey to Good Health".

Meek, I think I was CAUSING my IBS symptoms by OD'ing on the senna tea! You might have stripped out all the good stuff from your tract like I did. You'll be ok. Yes it's worth a try.

OK I just put it to the MEGA-TEST. I had a large cobb salad from my favorite local restaurant- my favorite meal on the planet. Lord help me. Actually it wasn't THAT MUCH veggie - I mean not a HEAPING PLATE, just a normal plate really. I also took my digestive enzymes AND some Beano too. I took 1 pearl this morning and will use the pearl powder in my evening yoggie. We'll see. If I feel like crap later I will CRY. Cuz I HAVE to be able to eat my daggone salad. Yesterday I had two smaller salads and I was totally fine... sigh

Meekness..
I did alot of research on Probiotics.. and in my opinon the Enzymatic Therapy
Acidophilus Pearls are the best value for your money. They have helped me alot and I have bought more expensive (have to be refridgerated) brands from health food companies.. I bought mine at Walmart.. if you can't find it there.. I think I just saw some at CVS pharmacy.. or try Walgreen's... if still not you can search google for them..

I had to just stop with the cleanses.. I was very uncomfortable for a couple of weeks.. I know that exercise REALLY helped me (I have slacked off unfortunately now) get over the "no go".. I didn't take fiber but I ate LOTS of veggies and drank lots of water.. but again.. I think all the walking (about three miles a day) helped get things moving again.. the Pearls are going to really help too..

I am sure more posts will come for fiber ideas.. I know it could help.

Allie, you are never alone!!

I respect you a great deal. You have a lot of to be proud of in your accomplishments, but that doesn't mean there aren't challenges.

We all have our issue we must face and address.. No one is perfect. That's why we have to look to One who is..

I hope you find the best approach to deal with this...

My grandmother at 92 is addicted to laxatives and now she has little control over her bowel... You don't want to be there. I'm glad you realized where you were headed and are moving to a healthier place.

We're here for you.

I believe it was Dae-tona who posted about probiotics, and now she eats all raw foods (fruits, veg) and is able to digest and eat more of these foods due to the probiotics, where before taking the probiotics she would gain.

Agreed. I have tried Primal Defense but I think those take a while to kick in, and I think it may be TOO strong to start with. I also have some of this in my fridge and will use those later on. But these pearls are just that-- PEARLS.

I fortunately didn't have the discomfort.. cuz my last senna tea was Fri night, and my 1st pearl was Sat around mid-day. Dunno.

Also THE WATER DRINKING HELPS ME SOOOO MUCH. If I 'feel' something trying to move, if I chug some water then BAM. I can tell the water is a HUGE help. I am so thankful I didn't totally destroy my muscles/colon (I dont think).

Actually.... continually I picture myself this lil sassy 90 year old chick, and I have a vision for how I HOPE that is. And addicted to senna tea is NOT in that image at all. I think about it all the time. ESPECIALLY turning 35 next month.

Thanks I'll remember to be patient. I WANT VEGGIES! I will try to not get discouraged if I feel crappy this afternoon after this large lunch salad. I guess you're right, don't push it too fast. I just want to be able to eat what I'm supposed to be eating! Nice healthy RAW VEG which I love soo much. I could live off it (of course with good fats n protein too!).
