Allie, I just wanted to mention (in case you forgot) Coconut Oil is very Anti yeast!! That is one of the reasons I take it daily. I also use it on my skin.

So far (what I am doing now that keeps it at bay) is yogurt, coconut oil, acidophilus Milk and fiber.

If something were to throw me for a loop, I would need to do something stronger. Maybe the Pearls thing you talked about?

Allie,

Thank you for posting that. I can totally relate and have to agree. Last year I went thru a series of liver cleanses. I was having gall bladder issues and kept doing the cleanse.. I am not sure how many times.. at least 15-20. It is a very violent cleanse (at least for me) with the oils and Epsom salts.. It did help my gall bladder but left me with very little good bacteria in my intestines.. I developed very bad allergies. I found the relationship between the cleanses and benefical bacteria (also needed to get my body alkaline again) on a health site.
I then (like you) researched the best probiotics and came across the Pearls.. I have been coming around now for about six weeks.. I feel much better and have only had one issue with food (nuts) lately.. it is amazing..

Keep on studying.. you have got the weight under control.. now take care of the health. I love learning...

YellowBrix... I would love to learn more about Olive Leaf.. that sounds very interesting.. I have also heard that Oregano oil is good for yeasties...

this is a great thread...

Hmmm a regular part of my diet is coconut oil, yogurt and kefir already... and flax....

I still need help hoping the pearls add to that!

Allie. I used senna root tea for years too. I still have it in the cabinent. IT got to the point I would have to brew the tea longer to go and then I was in SERIOUS pain literaly crawling, I shittyou not....tot he bathroom with sweat pouring from my scalp. I thought what the HELL and i doing here?
It is still there...for a saftey net even though I kow it will kmake me ill. I have not used it in over a year now and I will tell you probiotics are great. I also take FIBERSURE with 100% inuln right before bed. I take 3 servings at once. It is 100% inulin and all natural fiber so no carb count. I go every day without pain, without bleeding, without wanting to faint or vomit.
please look into it.
Much love,
Aim

I am a fan of olive leaf -- but I also would caution strongly that it is one of those herbs you really need to research prior to using. On the upside, it is antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiparasitic. On the downside, it can cause changes in blood pressure, and can cause some antibiotics not to work. Because it is powerful, you can have a really huge die-off reaction from it.

So, for example, let's say you're also using minoxidil (Rogaine) for hair loss -- that is originally a BP medication and can still, in small doses, affect your BP. Then, add olive leaf? You might have no reaction, or you might end up dizzy -- until you know, be careful!! Or, if you know you have a big candida yeast problem: just like with coconut oil -- start slowly or you'll end up sick as a dog during the die off phase.

Read and research before you buy!

Hi Yellobrix..

Thank you...
I am one of those that REALLY researches an herb before I consider taking it.. I love to know that you do too... I have been interested in herbs since I was 12 years old and read "The Clan of the Cave Bear"..

I grow lots of herbs and my friends call me a "Green Witch"..!ha..
I am going to add that to my list of studies..
thank you very much...

Cary

It's quite good for sauteing foods in and I use it in my OneMinuteMuffin.

This is a very interesting thread even for me-I have diahrhea predominant IBS due to Fibromyalgia so I actually have the opposite problem. If I ever got constipated (hasn't happened in years) I would probably think I was dying! I also try to take (haven't been so good about this lately) the acidolpholus but yogurt everyday seems to be doing the trick for me. You are a brave soul Allie for posting this and good wishes to you..

Depends on what I'm cooking! Sometimes I use the expellar-pressed that does not smell coconutty. I know this sounds weird, but I really love an omelette cooked in virgin CO and stuffed w/diced red pepper and Swiss cheese. Who knew Swiss & coconut were complementary? Sometimes I also sautee chicken in VCO, then make a sauce of coconut milk (no sugar added it's pretty LC and high fiber) and peanut butter, with salt & white or cayenne pepper. Spicy-sweet and creamy!

The olive leaf I take is the Whole Foods store brand. I use one capsule morning and night, and take it for 7-10 days. In fact, I see myself stopping there today on my way home!

Yes the probiotics appear to be very helpful for people with the 'runny' IBS and for folk with Fibromyalgia too! Yay bacteria! lol.

Thank you Sandy.... see that is what I mean. Alot of people 'look up' to someone who is at/below goal and appears to be the epitome of health and happiness. But how hippocritical of the person when the person KNOWS they are doing stupid things under the table. Just not fair to have people always saying 'I wanna be where you are Allie!' and inside I'm thinking 'uh no you don't' . You never know WHAT is going on inside someone's head!
