Allie
what made him go to IBS? What symptoms are you having? not being nosey but rather very curious for my own quest in finding an answer!
When I did the GI they ran 7000 tests and said they need to rule everything out prior to an IBS diagnosis?

No they took Zelnorm off the market. Pamine Forte. I felt horrible after-- very sleepy and super dry mouth.. hence I only took it one time. I aint takin no med that makes me feel like crap. I'd rather treat it naturally with supplements. I am already having good success with the supps for the bloat and potty issues. My main purpose for going to the GI dr was not to get meds, but rather to figure out why I have this pain on my lower right side, get the CT scan (had that Friday) and colonoscopy if he does one.

CT scan- I had to drink the contrast drink AND get a contrast IV. It will show entire digestive tract plus all abdominal and pelvic organs.

The lower right side pain doesnt seem to be related to the bloaty crampy abdominal feeling, it is separate and different.

He said it COULD BE IBS, but did not diagnose. Based on the gassy bloaty 'not-regular on my own' symptoms and based on how long its been going on (about 3 months now).

I have added peppermint, fennel, the pearls, threelac (another probiotic), and now magnesium which is supposed to be good for sleep and muscle relaxation.

Thanks for posting about this!

I was using MoM's during my weight loss as suggested by Kimmer, but never
felt good about it. When I reached goal, I added in flax muffins and then
stopped taking the Mom's and Im off them, thank the Goddess!!! I had never
had such a problem before....even when doing Atkins for years. It is easy
to become dependent on them.

That is FAB news!! yay!! I had a ct scan of abdomen and pelvis with contrast and it was perfectly normal. Colonoscopy on Sept 17 just to rule out IBD (diff from IBS-- IBD is like Chron's or Colitis). The pearls have solved the 'regularity' issue. But I was still having the bad bad bad tummy pain and bloat. I tried Digestive Advantage for IBS on Friday and it has taken away the pain and bloat too (so far). We'll see!

Upon doing some research and talking with a LC coworker, I started with The Ultimate Cleanse. When the 'cleanse' was over, I still felt like I needed a 'daily cleanse'. She brought me some Chiro-Klenz tea which she got from her chiropractor. I've been hooked ever since.

It first started as a way to 'go daily'. THEN it morphed into 'if I weigh after I go, then the scale will be down' = EATING DISORDER. I am ashamed to admit it, and another VERY IMPORTANT LCF thread has brought it to light to me that I have a problem. And I KNOW I am not alone. From what I understand this is a form of bulimia.

You are very much not alone! I read your post and I have tears in my eyes! I suffer from being eating disordered. I'm like a giant mixing pot of eating disorders.. When dieting and the scale stops moving, Im noted for going on crazy fasts, and restricting calories. After eating something I know I shouldnt have eaten (binge) I usually get so upset it makes me vomit, (and its very warped because I know after I feel so much better, like that garbage is out of my system). And I myself have been known for abusing laxitives, salt water flushes, and enemas on occasion, just to see a movement on the scale.
Before low carbing, I was on a fasting kick.. I was fasting off and on for a month, taking small breaks. and hardly losing anything because my matabolism is shot! I am very anemic and this can be dangerous.. not to mention i was bruising so badly from almost nothing, that a few people at work were asking me if my husband was abusive! (how totally embarassing)
I tried low carb in the past, and it didnt really work to well for me, but now its working great, im so excited that I can now eat, and lose weight.
I wish I could get help for it, or sometimes even have someone to talk to about it but its funny how steriotypes work.. I would talk about fasting all the time at work, and no one ever considered or asked me if i had an eating disorder.. (im over weight so I cant have an eating disorder like hubby once said to me once when I questioned my obsessions with not eating and losing weight being an eating disorder)

I would have pm'd this to you, but I dont have access to pm yet!
I have a wonderful support forum that I visit for eating disorders too..
if it wasnt for this forum and that forum, I dont think that I would have been able to calm down some of my obsessions.. this forum has been heavin sent to me...

XOXO

Kerry

Kerry haven't I seen you posting on the Kimkins forum? I hope you have read all about the dangers of Kimkins and the Kimkins survivors stories. It seems from what you describe you do have some issues with your eating and truly Kimkins is not for those who have these type of problems. I am not putting you down or flaming you-just concerned is all. Many of the Kimkins survivors describe many of the behaviors you posted about. How are you doing?

im doing goood!
I have added some veggies to my mix, im eating spinich (mmm I have found some amazing ways to make it) I have actually just been really busy.. I have been working alot (I work in the auto industry) so the end of the month is always crazy so not as much time to post at work, and been running around like crazy doing things..
I'm not following strict kimkins, but there is some things that im picking up from there.. Im basically low carbing.. Eating protein, semi low fat, eating veggies now (green ones!) but keeping carbs under 25g a day.. (and not using the whole net carb rule, total carbs!)
The low carbing has helped me alot, Im actually eating, and not so much worrying about eating.. its very refreshing for me to not have to fear every bit of something I put into my mouth!

and lisabini I wanted to say thanks for telling me to eat more veggies! This has helped me in the going to the bathroom dept so much! But I am taking a break from the cla for a week to see if I have a magic woosh, or a pound or 2 drop...

XOXO

that you don't have IBD. My brother was recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and I've been doing some reading about it.

I've never heard of the dangers of the Kimkins. Can somebody tell me about it? As I was thinking about trying it.

there's a kimkinsdangers site that has a little of things to watch for in one of its initial posts

and there's a kimkinssurvivors site that has testimonies from people describing medical problems they've had

HTH!
