Hi Vicky,

I believe your tummy tuck is scheduled for tomorrow or Thursday, right? I just wanted to say that I will keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery. I know you must be soooooo excited!

Good luck Vicky - my prayers will be added to Sandy's for a successful surgery and recovery. Gosh you will look great this summer. The only thing you will hate is the girdle ..... but that's not forever.

Ask your surgeon about using Retin-A on your incision. It really makes a difference in healing the scar. Don't lift stuff, not even kids!

It's acually scheduled for Friday morning. I'm counting the hours, beleive you me. I can barely sleep at night.
Like I posted in the other thread, I've been reading alot of stories on this website I found about girls that have had it done. Some of them say it wasn't so bad...and then there are the ones that are like "It hurt sooo bad. The pain was awful. I stayed in bed for a week."
aaaah!!!!!!!!!!

My sister is coming over Thursday night to take "before" pics with her digital cam. I'll take some after ones once I have the drains removed so its not so gruesome...unless anybody is interesed in the gore. wuahah.

You definitely want the drains in there - as that will get rid of the excess fluid so you won't have to wait until your body absorbs it. They put them in behind my ears - and I didn't feel anything when they pulled them out.

You might also want to check with the doctor regarding Mederma ..... use after the staples and sutures are out. I had a complete hysterectomy in 1997. Some sales reps gave me a couple of tubes and told me to massage it in 2 to 3 times daily on the incision. OMG - I have absolutely NO scar from hip to hip. It is truly remarkable. I am using it on my scars in front of my ears and the scar is almost invisible after 2 weeks.

Good luck - and remember, positive attitude. You will be so happy when it is finished.

Seriously, I have a strong stomach. When I get mine done, I promise to take pictures as soon as I can; drains, bruises, scars, and all. I want people who are interested in getting this procedure done to know what it's all about.

I acually want to ask the surgeon to see the skin after! I'm weird like that. I love getting blood taken and stuff like that. I find it neat.

Me too! Doug always complains when I watch the LIFE network. I like watching those shows of women giving birth and people getting heart surgery and stuff.

My 'lil sister had this procedure done a year ago now and has absolutely no regrets!!! Went in early a.m. and was out by noon. What do they call that... fast fat removal service?

I saw this one silver one that tied in the middle on top and had itsy bitsy bottoms that criss crossed on the sides. This girl on Cape Cod was wearing it last summer - lets just say if I was in the ocean and needed help the lifeguards would have been way to preoccupied!
